What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Lumen Nexus: Core is already playable, but it is still growing.

Early Access allows me to develop the game together with players instead of building everything in isolation and only finding out later what works and what does not.

Automation games live from clarity, pacing, balancing, UI, and the feeling of “just one more improvement”. Player feedback is especially useful for these parts: what is confusing, what feels too slow, what is fun, what is broken, and what accidentally becomes interesting.

The goal is to improve Lumen Nexus: Core step by step with feedback from people who actually play it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is to keep Lumen Nexus: Core in Early Access for around 12 to 18 months.

This may change depending on development progress, feedback, and how much the core systems evolve during Early Access. The focus is not to rush a version number, but to make the game feel better, more complete, and more stable over time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the core gameplay loop: mining resources, building production chains, connecting buildings with transport beams, researching technologies, expanding the base, and improving automation.

The full version is planned to expand and polish these systems further. This may include more buildings, recipes, resources, research options, faction trading, NPC interactions, world variety, UI improvements, balancing, quality-of-life features, and a more complete progression.

The exact scope may change during development based on player feedback and what turns out to be the most fun and useful for the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes the basic core loop of Lumen Nexus: Core.

You can mine resources, place buildings, connect them with transport beams, produce materials, store items, research technologies, and expand your base across the map.

The game already contains several resource types, production buildings, recipes, research progression, power systems, trading systems, UI elements, and a playable world with islands, plateaus, craters, water, oil, and resource deposits.

Some parts are still rough, unfinished, or subject to change. Balancing, UI, progression, visuals, tutorials, trading, NPC/faction systems, and overall game feel are still being improved.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase over time as more content, systems, polish, and overall value are added to the game.

There is no fixed pricing plan yet, but the general idea is that Early Access players should get the game at a lower price while development is still ongoing.

Any major pricing changes will be communicated clearly before they happen.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of development.

I plan to collect feedback through Steam discussions, playtest feedback, bug reports, and direct community comments. I am especially interested in feedback about balancing, confusing systems, UI problems, pacing, bugs, and features that feel fun or unnecessary.

The goal is not to blindly add every suggestion, but to understand what players struggle with, what they enjoy, and where the game needs better clarity or more depth.

Lumen Nexus: Core will be improved step by step based on testing, feedback, and actual player experience.”

About This Game

Lumen Nexus: Core is a building and automation game in which you establish a small outpost on an asteroid world drifting through space and gradually turn it into something that actually works. Your main objective: mine, process, and sell as many resources as possible to keep your employer satisfied.

Mine raw materials, build machines, connect buildings, research new technologies, and trade with factions and other inhabitants. Little by little, you’ll create a production network that becomes slightly less disastrous over time.

At the beginning, you only have access to a handful of basic resources and simple buildings. You place mining facilities, connect individual production stages, store materials, unlock new recipes, and try to keep the entire operation running without constantly having to fix the next bottleneck.

Instead of traditional conveyor belts, Lumen Nexus: Core uses transport beams. Resources travel between your buildings as visible cubes, turning your factory into a network of glowing connections rather than an endless tangle of conveyor belts. It’ll probably still become spaghetti. Just more sci-fi.

The game world consists of islands, plateaus, craters, bodies of water, and deposits of oil and other resources. Some resources can be found nearby. Others require you to expand, plan ahead, or at least pretend you had a plan from the beginning.

As your base grows, you’ll unlock new buildings, recipes, research options, and trading relationships. Your goal is to build a functioning Nexus capable of processing resources, supporting research, managing trade, and eventually developing into a vast industrial system.

Lumen Nexus: Core is still in development. Gameplay systems, balancing, content, the user interface, and the overall game feel are being improved step by step. Feedback is always welcome – especially if something is confusing, broken, boring, or accidentally brilliant.
