About This Game

Enter a manor where every portrait hides a secret.

In Ashrose Manor – A Portrait of Forbidden Love, you step into a decaying family estate haunted not by monsters, but by silence. The Ashrose family has preserved its legacy in oil, wood, and dust — yet one name has been scratched away, one portrait has vanished, and one forbidden love was never meant to be remembered.

As Evelyn, you arrive at Ashrose Manor and begin piecing together the truth hidden within its halls. Examine portraits, read forgotten journal entries, investigate old guest books, and uncover the story of Julian Vale, a restorer whose presence in the manor was deliberately erased.

Investigate. Collect clues. Rebuild the past.

Explore atmospheric rooms such as the entrance hall and the artist’s studio, where the manor’s most important secret waits to be uncovered. Every object can become a clue: an overpainted nameplate, a missing frame, a guest book entry from 1954, or a torn fragment of a painting.

Your journal acts as both your memory and your investigation board. Important discoveries are automatically recorded, allowing you to connect clues and unlock new conclusions as the story unfolds. This matches the intended journal-based clue system, where evidence such as Julian Vale, the overpainted nameplate, and the missing portrait lead to a larger realization.

Restore the portrait. Reveal the forbidden love.

At the heart of the prototype is a focused mystery loop: explore the manor, find fragments, restore a painting, and uncover what the Ashrose family tried to hide. The planned mini-prototype centers on a main menu, an intro, the entrance hall, the atelier, one central puzzle, a journal, a memory scene, and a final teaser ending.

The deeper you investigate, the clearer it becomes: Julian Vale was not just a visitor. His connection to the family was dangerous enough to be erased from every wall, every record, and every memory.
