Welcome to Big Smile Toys!

You’ve been hired as the newest Quality Assurance Associate for our beloved Fruit Patch Bears line!

Your job is simple: inspect each bear, review company guidelines, apply the correct tag, and keep the production line moving. Most issues are harmless manufacturing defects, such as uneven features, missing components, incorrect fruit emblems, damaged voice boxes, or torn fabric.

On rare occasions, however, a bear may require some... extra attention.

Please do not panic!

Certain Fruit Patch Bears may display traits outside standard quality expectations. If a bear moves without explanation, develops unexpected features, or presents stains of unknown origin, simply consult your tablet and follow official Big Smile Toys procedure.

Spot the Defects, Sort Them Out

Rotten Batch is a single-player, first-person horror inspection game set across five increasingly dangerous work shifts.

Complete each day’s assigned batch of Fruit Patch Bears, identify ordinary manufacturing defects, classify supernatural abnormalities, and maintain an acceptable performance record. As the week progresses, new tools, inspection rules, workplace disturbances, and company messages gradually reveal that something is deeply wrong inside Big Smile Toys.

Rotate each bear and inspect it from every angle. Search for tears, missing parts, incorrect emblems, and other visual defects. Activate its voice box to confirm that it plays only approved phrases and use the tools at your disposal to determine whether the bear is safe for the public.

Each shift introduces new inspection rules, more difficult abnormalities, unsettling workplace events, and fragments of a larger mystery hidden within company emails and official documents.

After completing your inspection, apply the appropriate defect or supernatural classification so the bear can be routed to the correct department.

Just a Defect, or Cursed?

Along with mundane production issues such as torn fabric and broken voice boxes, some bears may exhibit problems that are not so easily explained.

Strange red stains, growing horns, unnatural movement. And... is it just you, or is that bear watching you as you handle it?

Determine whether each supernatural abnormality is a Contamination, Manifestation, or Transformation. Each category corresponds to different symptoms, so inspect carefully before applying a tag.

Wrong answers may cost you more than just your job.

Survive a Five-Day Work Week

As the week progresses, unlock new tools to assist with your duties as a Quality Assurance Associate.

Scan bears to verify approved serial numbers, use X-ray imaging to examine what may be hidden beneath the fabric and stuffing, and shine UV lighting across the material to reveal stains that cannot be seen under normal conditions.

The longer you remain at Big Smile Toys, the more dangerous the job becomes.
