Waltz was an experienced Steppenwolfs mechanic and was often part of escort missions. One such mission ended in personal tragedy: the convoy was attacked by a squad of Ravagers, who destroyed the sergeant’s armoured car first. Krechet, the sergeant’s co-driver, was killed. Waltz was overcome by fury and a thirst for revenge. Through heroic efforts, the convoy detachment managed to wipe out the Ravagers. After the battle, Waltz’s mind was swarming with questions: why did the enemy have such excellent defences? Why had the Ravagers caught the squad off guard? How could they defeat a superhuman enemy? Waltz went through everything he could get his hands on, until he came across the destroyed escorted vehicle…

Inside, he found technical documentation for weaponry the Steppenwolfs had never seen before. Fate itself led him to a solution. From that moment on, developing the perfect weapon against the Ravagers became Waltz’s top priority. Major Rex learnt of the sergeant’s obsession and saw in it exactly what the Steppenwolfs needed: an opportunity for a technological leap forward. He gave Waltz a workshop, time, and access to all the secret blueprints. Sergeant Waltz’s revenge was about to come true.
