Why Early Access?

“We are launching in Early Access because the core gameplay loop of Castleborne Survivors is already playable, including side-scrolling combat, automatic attacks, level-up choices, weapon and passive item builds.

However, as a survivor-like action game, the long-term experience depends heavily on balance, pacing, weapon combinations, character variety, enemy pressure, and replayability. These are areas where real player feedback is especially valuable.

Early Access allows us to involve players while we continue developing the game. We plan to use community feedback to improve the game feel, adjust balance, fix issues, and decide the priority of future content updates. During Early Access, we intend to keep expanding the game with more characters, weapons, passive items, enemies, stages, and overall polish, working toward a more complete and stable full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for around six months. During this period, we plan to expand the game with more content, features, and gameplay systems.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version may still have some balance issues, and online co-op may be unstable or contain bugs. During Early Access, we plan to gradually add more stages, playable characters, weapons, and passive items, while further expanding the fusion and enchantment systems.

The full version is planned to include a more polished and stable online co-op experience, a deeper breakthrough layer for character enchantments, and a more complete advanced stage progression system.

Even after the full version is released, we plan to continue updating the game with new characters, weapons, and passive items.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will include:

At least 4 playable characters
At least 3 stages
A complete single-run gameplay experience
A complete meta-progression experience outside of each run

However, as an Early Access version, some aspects of the overall game flow, user interaction, and the stability of online co-op may still have issues. We will continue to improve and optimize these areas throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the full release is planned to be slightly higher than the Early Access price, but we do not intend to make a significant price increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to continue communicating with players through the Steam Community and Discord throughout development.”
