What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“LowRanger's multiplayer is best shaped by real players. Early Access lets me launch the free roam and missions experience, gather feedback on what's working, and build the game around how people actually play together before adding the full singleplayer campaign.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6-12 months, based on user feedback and funding I am currently looking to acquire.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the multiplayer mission pool, grow the open world map, and deepen the vehicle modification system. The full release will also introduce a story-based singleplayer campaign set in the same world.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, it's in the prototype phase. Looking to develop into a vertical slice for funding grants, and then moving on to the early access version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During early access it will be cheaper, and increasing in price as new features are implemented.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly shape LowRanger's development throughout Early Access. Players will be able to submit bug reports and feature suggestions through the Steam Discussion boards, which I will monitor actively. Major development decisions - such as new terrain types, vehicle modifications, and map expansions - will be put to the community through Steam polls and social media votes before being prioritised on the roadmap.
I share regular development updates across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, where the audience already engages with gameplay mechanics and provides feedback on feel, features, and direction. This has already influenced design decisions during pre-release development.
As a solo developer, the community plays an especially important role - player feedback is the primary way I validate and prioritise what gets built next. Early Access adopters will have direct access to me through the Steam forums and will see their input reflected in patch notes and update logs.”

About This Game

Grab your mates and head bush. LowRanger drops you and your crew into a vast Australian outback, free to roam, tackle missions, and keep your 4WD Utes alive across some of the harshest terrain on earth. A singleplayer campaign is planned for the full release.

Free Roam Multiplayer with Missions

Explore the outback together or split up and cover ground. Take on missions that test your driving, your gear, and your ability to get each other unstuck.

Explore a Living Outback

A lo-fi open world built around authentic Australian terrain. Red dirt tracks, creek beds, scrub, and isolation. The map opens up as your vehicle and your resourcefulness grows.

High-Accuracy Vehicle Physics

Every slope, surface, and recovery attempt is simulated with precision. Getting bogged genuinely sets you back and requires problem solving.

Maintain, Modify, Survive

The property doesn't run itself. Manage your survival, tend to the land, and upgrade your Ute to handle conditions it was never built for.

Terrain That Fights Back

Weather shifts, ground softens, and some tracks are simply beyond your current setup. Plan your routes, pick your moments, and know when to turn back.
