What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ESTRO Quantum is a strategy card game, and a card game is only as strong as its balance and its community. Early Access lets me tune card balance, the Estro matchups and the Quantum layer against a real, active player base instead of in a vacuum, and it lets players help decide which game modes come next. As a solo developer, that direct feedback loop is the fastest way to make the game the best version of itself.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am planning for roughly one year in Early Access. That is a target, not a promise: as a solo developer I would rather extend Early Access than push out a 1.0 that feels rushed or unbalanced. I will adjust the timeline based on how the meta settles and how much player feedback there is to act on.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I intend to grow the game well beyond its launch feature set. The areas I plan to expand are: more game modes and rule layers, deeper balance passes across the 250 cards and 187 Gifts, additional cosmetics and progression, and quality-of-life improvements driven by player feedback. I am deliberately avoiding hard promises on specific features or release dates; the aim is steady, meaningful additions rather than a fixed checklist.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“ESTRO Quantum is already a complete, playable game, not a demo. It includes the full 1v1 combat system with the Quantum layer, 250 cards and 187 unique Gifts, an 80-phase story campaign, duels against the AI, ranked and casual online PvP with a leaderboard, two base modes (Standard and NecroToken) and two rule layers that stack on top of them (Dimensional Rift and Stratega), daily and weekly missions, and a cosmetics shop that uses in-game currency only, with no microtransactions. Early Access is about expanding it, not finishing core features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price gradually as new game modes and content are added during Early Access. Buying during Early Access means getting the game at its lowest price, and I do not plan to lower the price when the full version launches.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Direct feedback is the entire point of Early Access for me. I will use the Steam Community hub and discussions to collect balance reports, bug reports and suggestions, run polls on which modes and features to prioritize, and post regular patch notes. As a solo developer I can read and act on feedback quickly, so the community's input will directly shape what gets built next”

About This Game

No life points. No health bars. You win by taking the board.

ESTRO Quantum is the official digital edition of ESTRO, a 1v1 strategy card game built on a rule most card games never break: nobody has hit points. Every match is a fight for the field, decided card by card, clash by clash.

  • 250 cards across five Estri, each with its own way to fight

  • 187 unique Gifts that steal, shield, revive and counter

  • The Quantum layer: build Charge, win Dominance, Overload the clash

  • 8 ways to play: two base modes and two rule layers you can stack

  • An 80-phase story campaign, duels against the AI, ranked and casual PvP

  • No pay-to-win: the shop sells cosmetics only, paid with currency you earn by playing

Victory is not a number reaching zero. There are three ways to win:

  • Clear the field. From round 6 on, a player with no cards in play loses.

  • Run them dry. A player who has to draw with both deck and hand empty loses on the spot.

  • Outlast them. After round 19, the player with more cards on the field and higher total power wins. Lead in only one of the two and the match is a draw.

Every card you commit is a position you have to hold.

Combat resolves on its own, in seconds. When two cards meet, the game adds up their five stats into a total. Then the real fight starts:

  • Estro matchups. Every card belongs to one of five Estri: ARDO, GRANITO, ARMONIO, ILLUSIO and MANPO. Who attacks whom can swing a clash by up to 10 points.

  • The die. Both players roll a d6. Roll a number tied to your card's Estro and its main stat gains +5.

  • The overwhelming strike. If the attacker's main stat is more than double the defender's, it wins outright, whatever the totals say.

  • Zones. One of five Zone cards shapes every match: it boosts its own Estro and carries a one-time Gift that bends the rules for both players.

187 of the 250 cards carry a Gift, and no two Gifts are the same. Some fire when the card enters play, some when it is destroyed, some in answer to your opponent. Steal a Gift, shield an ally, pull a card back from the Incinerator, or turn a play back on the player who made it.

The digital twist in the name. The tabletop rules of ESTRO stay exactly as they are: Quantum is built on top of them.

  • Charge. Cards you play from your hand build Quantum Charge, up to 20.

  • Dominance. Beat your opponent in 3, 4 or all 5 stats and that clash gets a x1, x2 or x3 multiplier.

  • Overload. Spend your Charge, multiplied by your Dominance, straight onto the total. It works in attack and in defense.

Quantum does not win the match for you: the board does. Quantum decides the clashes along the way. Bank it, read the field, and spend it the moment it breaks your opponent.

Take a random 25-card deck dealt from all 250 cards, or build your own: 25 cards, no duplicates, up to five saved decks. Every new card you unlock through the story and your wins against the AI opens new combinations.

Pick a base mode, then add the rule layers you want. Two bases and two layers make 8 combinations, all playable against the AI and online.

  • Standard. The full ESTRO rules.

  • NecroToken. Every card you lose earns you a NecroToken. Spend them on an extra draw, an unbreakable shield, or a card taken straight from your deck. Comebacks become a weapon.

  • Dimensional Rift (layer). Once per turn, destroy one of your own cards to summon a card from the Dimensional Deck, the shared pile nobody brought to the table. Its Gift fires on arrival.

  • Stratega (layer). A slower game for planners: no attacks in rounds 1 to 3, one skipped draw for each player, and nobody can win or lose before round 9.

And where to play them:

  • Story. 8 chapters and 80 phases set in the world of ESTRO, teaching the game one duel at a time.

  • 1 vs AI. Random or custom deck, any mode combination.

  • Ranked PvP. Climb eight tiers and the online leaderboard.

  • Casual PvP. Bring your own deck against real players.

Story, AI duels and deck building also work offline.

The only shop is inside the game and it sells cosmetics: card skins, battle effects, card backs, backdrops, frames, titles and avatars. Everything is paid with currency you earn by playing, with daily and weekly missions on top. No real-money store. No microtransactions. No pay-to-win. Matches are won at the table, not at the checkout.

ESTRO Quantum is built by a single developer. The game is complete and playable today, and Early Access keeps it moving: since launch, updates have added the Dimensional Rift and Stratega layers, new card variants and regular fixes. Balance reports, bug reports and mode ideas from the Steam discussions decide what comes next.

No life points. Just the board, the clash, and the Overload you saved for the right moment.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

ESTRO Quantum uses generative AI only for some of its 2D/3D visual assets. Card illustrations and cosmetic art (card skins, backdrops, card backs) were created with the help of generative AI image-generation tools, then curated and reviewed by the developer before being included in the game. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay; the single-player "AI opponents" are traditional rule-based systems and do not use generative AI.
