What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This is my first game, and I'm proud of what it already is, but it's not finished yet. I still want to add more creatures, tools, and nightmares, and I need player feedback to get the difficulty and balance right. Early Access lets me build the rest of the game together with the people who play it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm not sure yet — it will take as long as it needs to. How long it takes depends on player feedback as much as my own judgment. Nightmare Company will stay in Early Access until it's truly ready.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have more creatures, more tools, more customization options, and more nightmares to explore. This is a game built around variety, so most of my work goes there. I'll also keep fixing bugs and adjusting the balance so the game feels fair for both new and experienced players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now, up to 4 players can play together. There are 3 nightmares to explore, 14 creatures to face (and more are coming), and 8 tools you can buy in the shop to help you survive each run.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may only go up if the game reaches its full potential. If the price changes, I'll announce it clearly ahead of time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Nightmare Company can still grow in many directions, and I want players to help shape it. I'll be reading feedback closely, especially on Discord and in gameplay videos. If you have ideas for new creatures, tools, or nightmares, I want to hear them — and they may end up in the game.”

About This Game

Story
You work for a company that opened a door into the darkest corners of the human mind: the subconscious. Clients can't stop having the same nightmare — the same trauma, playing on a loop every time they close their eyes. The company puts them under and sends someone in to go find what's causing it. That someone is you.

Game Loop
The moment you step through the portal, you're inside the client's mind. Your job is simple: collect the nightmare artifacts feeding the loop and get back to the exit before things go wrong. Sell what you bring back at the pit, spend the money on gear, and take the next job. Miss the quota too many times and the Company stops being patient with you.

Play with Friends

You don't have to go into the dark alone. Bring up to three others. Keep one person on the terminal watching the map and the portal, while the rest dive deeper into the mind. Decide among yourselves who's grabbing artifacts and who's watching the exit. The shop's gear is basic, but it can keep you alive a little longer — if you spend your money wisely.

Clock is Ticking

Here's the part that matters: the client can wake up at any second and if you're still inside when they do, you're not coming back. So take what you can carry, watch the clock, and don't be the one who gets left behind.

Early Access

Nightmare Company is in Early Access. More nightmares, more things hunting you through them, and more gear to buy your way out are all still coming.
