Why Early Access?

“FluxWerks is a technically complex game with automation of many resources, dynamic fluid and heat simulation, and fully modifiable voxel terrain. Because of the sheer number of interacting systems and balancing them, community feedback is absolutely vital. We want to work closely with players during Early Access to refine the UX, balance the tech tree, and thoroughly test the late-game logistics to ensure the factory-building experience is as smooth and satisfying as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate FluxWerks will be in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months. This timeline gives us enough room to implement planned features and incorporate player feedback, though we will remain flexible to ensure the 1.0 release meets our quality standards.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game significantly for the full 1.0 release. Our roadmap includes adding more diverse biomes to explore and exploit, a much larger and deeper tech tree with new endgame technologies, and a variety of new logistical features. The full version will also feature extensive overall polish, performance optimizations, and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable right now. The foundational systems are in place, including the theoretically endless procedural world, complete terrain modification, and dynamic fluid and heat simulations. Players can already build complex logistics networks using belts and pipes and long distance drone logistics.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to slightly increase the price of the game upon the full 1.0 release to reflect the additional content, features, and polish added during the Early Access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively engage with our community primarily through our official Discord server and the Steam discussion forums. We will be listening closely to player feedback regarding factory balancing, quality-of-life improvements, and bug reports. We also plan to share regular development updates and roadmaps, and we may utilize experimental branches for players who want to help test new features and complex logistical systems before they are rolled out to the main game.”

About This Game

The terrain in FluxWerks is not a backdrop. It is a resource and a hazard. Strip-mine a mountain into nothing, then build your factory down into the hole it left. Dig below a lake and the water pours in behind you. Heat crosses from block to block, and storms wear down every machine you leave in the open.

The scan said this world was empty

A long-range scan found a temperate, oxygen-rich, unoccupied world. You are the preparation unit, sent far ahead to raise an industrial base, survey the planet, and transmit everything home. The orders are simple. But a scan taken from that far away does not catch everything, and the closer you look at this world, the less empty it seems.

Key features

Total voxel freedom

Every block in the world can be mined, moved, or built over. Strip-mine a mountain with excavators, carve a bunker into deep rock, or build a platform across the open ocean and a tunnel underneath it.

Dynamic fluid simulation

Water, oil, lava and acid flow through the world and react where they meet. Water on lava makes obsidian. Water on hot ground boils away. Volcanoes erupt for real, and lava does not care what you built in its path.

Heat is physical

Waste heat does not just vanish away. It moves through the blocks around your machines, so how and where you build matters as much as what you build. Pipe the heat away, or turn it back into power.

Deep automation and logistics

Build dense assembly lines from belts, inserters and pipes, and cover long distances with cargo drones. Copy any working section of your factory as a blueprint and stamp it anywhere.

The nanobot swarm

You touch the world through a nanobot swarm. Point it at terrain to clear it, at resources to harvest them, at a blueprint to print it.

Your exhaust does not just disappear

FluxWerks has no enemy factions, but the planet keeps score. Pollute the air heavily enough and something dormant in the soil might awaken...

Explore a world with a past

Cross deserts, jungles, tundra and volcanic wastes, and dig into cave systems. Scan for ore straight through solid rock. Points of interest are scattered across the world, with story background to uncover.

Weather wears things down

Rain, blizzards, sandstorms and lightning cross the world on their own schedule, and machines wear out with exposure. Keeping repairs flowing is its own supply chain.

Research across eras

Climb from your first furnace to industrial chemistry and advanced electronics. Every research era asks for a noticeably bigger factory than the last, and each one unlocks machines that change how you build, not just how fast you build.

The computing layer

Advanced machines draw on a shared computing reserve produced by your computer clusters. A starved factory slows down, and computers draw real power and put out real heat, so datacenter management becomes a real puzzle to solve.

Built for scale

FluxWerks is designed for large factories, while still simulating the heat and fluids across the whole map. Fly freely around the world while the factory keeps running.
