After a year of bad dates, failed job applications, and dating apps that seem to attract only the worst kind of men, you've nearly given up on finding the love story you've always written about. One drunken night, you decide to write the man of your dreams into your notebook, every detail of him crafted to your desires.

The next day, he becomes a reality.

As you fall for the impossibly perfect stranger who seems to have stepped straight off your pages, the line between the love you write and who you are begins to blur. You'll wonder if fate has finally answered your prayers, or if you can truly trust the "man of your dreams" when fiction becomes your reality.

Affictionate is a slice-of-life romance visual novel about identity, friendship, and the dangerous gap between fantasy and reality. Set against a contemporary backdrop of late-night bars, motorcycle rides, and quiet apartments, the story follows a chronically single writer rediscovering themselves one choice at a time.

Step into the shoes of an aspiring writer who has spent the last year hiding from her real life. With the support (and occasional teasing) of their close-knit group of friends, you will navigate relationships with charming love interests whose pasts are more complicated than they first appear. Every choice you make shapes who you become, who you lets in, and ultimately, who you chooses for yourself.

Affictionate was written and developed almost entirely by a single person from LATAM Brazil, Kindred Spirit, with artworks made by Bastet Nailah, Alexa Ookami and Hirai!

Affictionate is a slice-of-life romance visual novel for adult audiences (18+). The story explores themes of self-discovery, friendship, healthy and unhealthy romantic dynamics and the gap between fantasy and reality.

All characters depicted in romantic or sexual contexts are adults.

Mature content includes:

- Sexual content (non-explicit): Multiple intimate scenes between adult characters depicted through suggestive narration and fade-to-black transitions rather than explicit visuals.

- Alcohol consumption: On-screen drinking and visible intoxication, including a scene where the protagonist becomes drunk at a restaurant.

- Drug use (one branch only): One ending branch depicts a scene where a character uses cocaine on screen. Past drug use (cannabis, MDMA) is referenced in dialogue as backstory. This content is framed as cautionary; the protagonist recognizes the behavior as harmful.

- Criminal acts (one branch only): One narrative path includes trespassing in a closed corporate building. Another ending branch depicts an illegal street race with gambling.

- Toxic relationship themes: One ending explores possessive behavior, emotional manipulation, and the protagonist recognizing and leaving an unhealthy relationship.

- Strong language: Frequent profanity throughout dialogue.

- Other mature themes: Mental health struggles, isolation, self-destructive behavior in a character's backstory, and emotionally complex breakups.

The narrative is structured so that different player choices lead to different endings, including both healthy relationship outcomes and a cautionary "bad ending" that frames the dangerous behaviors as something to walk away from.
