About This Game

Something is growing inside the school. Find the lab. Find the exit. Burn your way out before it finds you.

HALL PASS is a pixel-art co-op survival horror game for one to four players. You wake in a pitch-black school overrun by sentient moss, armed with nothing but a lighter, a flashlight, and whatever you can pry out of the lockers. The moss slows you. The thing that lives in the moss hunts you. Fire is the only language either of them respects.

EVERY SCHOOL IS DIFFERENT

The corridors reshape themselves between every session. Around sixty rooms shuffle into a seeded layout: classrooms, a cafeteria, a two-story library, bathrooms, supply closets, and the laboratory hidden deep in the moss-choked half of the building. The exit is always somewhere on the far edge. Finding it without dying is the part you have to figure out.

FIRE IS THE VERB

Flick your lighter to hold the dark at bay. Pour hand sanitizer on a moss patch to make it catch. Drop a burning book to carve out a path. Craft molotovs, torches, and pipe bombs from junk you find on the floor. Every fire you set clears the moss, drives back the stalker, and reshapes the map in your favor for a few precious seconds.

SOMETHING IS ALWAYS NEAR

One stalker roams the school. Kill it and it comes back forty-five seconds later, fresh from the lab. It hears your footsteps. It sees your flashlight. It knows the moment you set foot on moss. Crouch in the dark to vanish. Hold a flame to push it back. Or run, if running is still an option.

SCAVENGE, CRAFT, ESCAPE

Pry open lockers for bandages, batteries, books, sanitizer, water, and weapons. Combine them at a crafting station into healing items, reinforced knives, spears, torches, molotovs, and pipe bombs. Manage two hand slots, your hunger, your stamina, and the heartbeat climbing in your ears.

ALONE OR TOGETHER

Play solo for a slower, lonelier nightmare, or bring up to three friends over Steam, LAN, or direct connect. Every system behaves the same in single-player and co-op. The school does not get easier with more bodies in it. It just gets harder to coordinate when one of you is screaming.

FEATURES

  • 1 to 4 player co-op over Steam, LAN, or direct IP

  • Procedurally generated school with around 60 rooms per session and force-placed objectives

  • Pixel-art 3D look rendered through a custom depth-driven pixelation and outline compositor

  • Fire-driven sandbox with eight craftable items including molotovs, pipe bombs, and spears

  • Adaptive AI stalker that hunts by sight, sound, and the moss you step on

  • Dynamic moss spread that reshapes the map on a timer and lets you burn back the tide

  • Pitch-black by design. The only light is the light you carry or the light you set on fire

  • Adaptive heartbeat audio that rises with the stalker's proximity and tells you exactly how close it is

The exit is somewhere.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Code Red's concept phase was assisted by AI.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Code Red is a survival horror game and contains content that some players may find disturbing.

Violence: The game features melee combat with knives and spears, throwable explosives (molotovs and pipe bombs), and fire-based combat against a humanoid enemy. Defeating the moss-covered humanoid stalker involves striking, burning, or blowing it up. Damage to the player is conveyed through a red screen vignette and an audible heartbeat. There is no blood, gore, or dismemberment.

Horror and tension: The game is intentionally dark and atmospheric. Players navigate pitch-black environments with limited light sources while being hunted by an AI enemy. Audio cues including a rising heartbeat, distant footsteps, and ambient drones are used to create sustained tension and jump-scare moments.

Fire: Setting fires is a core mechanic. Players ignite environmental elements, craft incendiary weapons, and burn enemies as a primary form of combat.

The game does not contain sexual content, nudity, depictions of real-world violence, drug or alcohol use, self-harm, or discriminatory content.
