The Opéra Garnier is bleeding light into the Parisian rain, and somewhere  inside it walks Étienne d'Aubigny — a traitor to the Camarilla, an actor who tore up his script and ran. Bring him to Justicar Lucinde, and the title of Archon is finally yours. Fail, and your rival walks away with everything you've spent two centuries working toward.

This is the prologue of Vampire: The Masquerade — Oaths & Ashes, a hand-crafted Visual Novel set in the World of Darkness. The hunt for Étienne is the audition. What comes after is Berlin.

WHAT YOU'LL PLAY

Step into the elegant, calculating mind of Alice Lytelton — Ventrue, ambitious to a fault, two centuries of practiced composure stretched over a hunger she refuses to name. You will:

• Hunt a traitor through the velvet corridors and rain-slick rooftops of the Opéra Garnier, where every conversation is a careful step on uneven footing.

• Outmaneuver an ally you cannot trust — Thomas Egerton, Lucinde's other hand on this mission, watching for any sign you are not who you claim to be.

• Choose how Alice walks through the world — restraint or threat, charm or domination, the truth or the version of it that serves you better.

• Wield Disciplines at the moments when a single supernatural edge changes what is possible. Pressure a witness, anchor yourself against a stronger blow, read the room beneath the room.

• Manage your Hunger in a city that does not forgive a slip — and your Masquerade, which forgives even less.
