Hearthsail is a game about sailing out into the mysteries of the sea and the warmth of coming home. You cast off because something unknown lies hidden in the fog out there. You return because your own fire burns on the shore. Whether you sail as a captain with friends or seek the silence alone – you decide at any time between cozy island life and a salty pirate adventure.

The world breathes. The island you spot through your spyglass is the exact one you'll drop anchor at in a few moments. No menus breaking the illusion. You stand at the helm, trim the sails to the wind, and ride into the unknown.

The ocean is vast and wild, but it means you no harm. There is no agonizing hunger chasing you, and no deadly thirst. If the rough seas swallow you, they will wash you ashore on a safe beach. You might lose a little time, but never your progress or your soul.

Three heavy swings, and the palm tree falls. You scavenge ancient driftwood, strike rare ores from the rocks, and pull exotic fish from the shallows.

Every island harbors its own secrets. Wood becomes a crackling campfire, planks become a workbench right beneath the deck of your ship. With every stroke, your boat grows, and the next voyage becomes a bit more legendary because you tame the sea to your will.

The islands aren't empty. You will meet eccentric ex-captains, mysterious cartographers, and silent pearl divers. Every character has their own routine, deep secrets, and a story that unfolds if you take the time. A rare fish as a gift at the right moment opens more doors than a dozen completed quests.

Your Own Beacon in the Dark

Your home island belongs to you, down to the last grain of sand. You build your terrace, set up benches, and light your campfire. When you sail into your bay at night after a long voyage and see your self-built light on the shore, you feel that pride reserved only for true seafarers.

At night, it gets quiet. The fishing rod is in the water, your fire burns behind you, and somewhere out there in the dark, the next adventure awaits.
