About This Game

Abyssfall: The Black Citadel is a dark fantasy tower defense game that combines tactical tower placement, real-time hero combat, and a tabletop-inspired d20 Fate Dice system.

The abyss has opened, and its corruption is spreading across the realm. Demons, undead, and twisted creatures march toward your stronghold in relentless waves. To survive, you must build defenses, manage your gold, upgrade your towers, command a battle mage on the battlefield, and decide when to risk fate itself.

This is not a defense you watch from a distance. Your towers hold the line, but your mage can move where the battle is most dangerous, attack enemies directly, and cast spells when your defenses are under pressure. Every level challenges you to think strategically, react quickly, and decide where your power is needed most.

Hold the Line

Enemies advance along battlefield paths toward your base. Place towers in key locations, create defensive choke points, and stop the horde before it breaks through. As waves become stronger, your early decisions will shape whether your defense survives or collapses.

Command a Mage

Take direct control of a mage hero during combat. Move across the battlefield, strike enemies with magic, and cast spells to support your towers. Your hero is not just a passive upgrade — he is an active part of your defense.

Build, Upgrade, and Adapt

Earn gold during battle and spend it wisely. Build new towers to cover weak points, upgrade existing defenses to increase their power, and adapt your strategy as new enemy waves appear. Good resource management can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Hunt Fated Enemies

Some monsters enter the battlefield as Fated Enemies, empowered by unstable fate magic. These enemies are more dangerous than normal monsters. Defeating them rewards you with a D20 Fate Die, giving you a chance to bend the battle in your favor.

Roll the Fate Dice

Fate Dice are powerful but unpredictable. During combat, you can spend a Fate Die to draw three random fate effects, choose the one that best fits the situation, and then roll a d20 to determine the result.

A high roll can unleash a powerful blessing such as burst of damage, emergency gold, or temporary combat advantage. A low roll may fail completely. A natural 1 can backfire, turning your gamble into a dangerous setback.

Face Dark Fantasy Enemies

Fight corrupted monsters, undead warriors, and abyssal creatures that threaten your stronghold. Learn their behavior, respond to their movement, and prepare for increasingly dangerous waves.

Advance Toward the Black Citadel

At the center of the invasion stands the Black Citadel, a fortress of abyssal power. Battle through corrupted lands and push toward the source of the darkness as the world falls deeper into ruin.
