What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Direlands: Extraction is being developed by a solo developer. The game has reached a point where its core gameplay loop is fun, engaging, and provides a compelling experience, but there is still significant room for growth and refinement.

Early Access will allow players to help shape the future of the game by providing feedback on progression, balance, combat, loot, and overall gameplay systems. Community feedback will play an important role in guiding development and ensuring that Direlands: Extraction becomes the best experience it can be before its full release.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is for Direlands: Extraction to remain in Early Access for approximately one year. The game already includes multiple playable maps, cooperative multiplayer, PvP, progression systems, tiered loot system, tiered enemies, and core extraction gameplay. During Early Access, the focus will be on expanding content, refining existing systems, improving balance and performance, and incorporating community feedback. While the timeline may evolve based on player feedback and development progress, the goal is to deliver a polished and content-rich full release.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Direlands: Extraction is planned to include substantially more content and features than the Early Access release. This includes additional zones to explore, expanded PvE, PvP, and PvEvP experiences, new enemies, equipment, progression systems, and other gameplay content.

Another major goal is to transition from the current host/client networking model to dedicated servers, providing a more reliable multiplayer experience.

Throughout Early Access, community feedback will help shape development priorities and may influence additional game modes and features included in the final release.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access build contains the foundation of the game's core systems and gameplay loop. Players can complete a tutorial, explore multiple adventure zones, fight a variety of encounters, experiment with builds in dedicated training halls, and participate in PvP combat.

The game currently supports up to four-player cooperative multiplayer through Steam and direct network connections. While content is limited compared to the planned full release, the existing experience is intended to provide a solid introduction to the world, combat, progression, and extraction mechanics that will continue to expand throughout Early Access.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Direlands: Extraction will be offered at a lower price during Early Access. As new content and features are added, the price may increase periodically, with a final increase planned upon full release.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. A dedicated Discord server has been established where players can discuss the game, report bugs, suggest features, provide balance feedback, and share their experiences.

Feedback gathered from the community will help guide development priorities, refine existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and influence future content and gameplay features. Regular updates will be shared with players as the game evolves throughout Early Access.

About This Game

Direlands: Extraction blends the loot chase of a looter shooter, the tension of extraction gameplay, and the depth of classic fantasy RPGs.

The Direlands are a fractured world, torn apart by ancient magical forces. Travel between distant realms is only possible through powerful portal networks, allowing adventurers to brave forgotten ruins, cursed wildernesses, and lost civilizations in search of treasure and power.

But every journey carries risk. Gather valuable loot, uncover ancient secrets, and grow stronger with each expedition—but make it back alive. Death in the Direlands means losing everything you carried with you, leaving only your hard-earned knowledge and experience behind.
