In 2026, the Omega pandemic changed everything. The virus didn't kill the flesh; it killed desire. Without fear, joy, or the instinct to reproduce, humanity froze on the brink of extinction. The state-run BHS (British Health System) became the only salvation, replacing dead biology with the digital impulses of the "Baseline Tariff."

A Witness to the Underbelly of the System:

• An Engineer's Routine: Follow the story of T402, a rank-and-file employee of the technical sector. His task is to ensure bio-terminals (people) receive their signal correctly. If the network fails, the city becomes a graveyard of living bodies.

• The Impulse Economy: Joy, appetite, and even parental affection are now paid add-ons. His work ensures that those who pay their subscription can survive another day mimicking humanity.

• Brutalism as a Shield: Explore the London of the future through the lens of sterile decay architecture. There is no room for excess here—only concrete and functionality, protecting the fragile BHS hardware from the outside world.

• The Ethical Dilemma: Encountering "transmission errors" will force the engineer to see the true cost of this survival. Is it worth returning humanity's former life of pain and chaos if the cost is total collapse?

FLATLINE is a dark kinetic novel about bureaucracy on the edge of the abyss. But as you watch T402 code through the gray haze of London, a chilling realization sets in: you aren't just playing a game. You are the anomaly rotting their network from the inside.
