What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to invite EVERYONE to celebrate The Primus's birthday, even if we haven't finished blowing up all the balloons yet. Community feedback and contributions are how the best games, the best experiences are made.

Also, we're just so excited to show you what we're working on, we couldn't wait...”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A year or so... this is a passion project for many of our team, that we work on alongside regular jobs.

We will provide regular updates on development progress, and are eager to announce when the game will properly emerge from Early Access!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our development plan is to ensure core gameplay is fully functional before we properly release the game on Early Access. Development between Early Access and full release will mostly involve increasing the range of branching paths in the game (and accessible rooms), allowing for even more unique experiences between players, and on each playthrough of the game!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is played through three phases, and loops through them on subsequent playthroughs. Our team is planning to have the beginnings of Phase Two playable by August 2026, then look into Phase Three by the end of 2026. We will only release an Early Access version of the game once all three phases are functioning in the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. We want to be consistent and transparent with pricing to ensure financial accessibility to the game is upheld.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Devlogs on the Dapper Cranium Studios blog, livestreaming the game ourselves or with partners, community feedback forms, local community events, incorporating community feedback, and many more!”

About This Game

You’re invited to celebrate the birthday of the interdimensional deity: The Primus! The main event is… solving the murder of the birthday boy himself?!

Classic visual novel adventure with a deadly twist. You must solve the mystery before the floating palace tumbles into a black hole! Every conversation, every poke of an object will bring you and your fellow partygoers closer to an unfathomable cosmic demise. But don’t worry, you can replay your failures over and over… and over… Until you manage to save everybody (or go insane)!

Don’t forget to grab some birthday cake!

Gameplay

Point-and-click and Visual Novel style storytelling. Explore the Garnet Garden, Malachite Museum, and many more through three major chapters, benchmarked by the gradually dwindling integrity of the palace – once it hits zero, everybody dies, unless you can find and revive The Primus!

Cleverly and stupidly laid evidence can be found all over the palace, from the exorbitant casino, owned by a gold dragon, in the basement (overlooking the eternal starry sea below), to the chaotic zoo on the top floor bathed in cosmic light. Gather evidence and gain skills to explore the deepest reaches of this mysterious mansion amongst the stars.

A classic whodunnit, murder mystery, set in a medieval fantasy world with a galactic twist, and a ticking time bomb motivating you to make carefully thought out decisions. Solve the murder and save everyone, or enjoy the lavishness of the Prism Palace while you all still exist in this dimension. It’s your life, I guess.
