What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This section used to be funny but the Steam employees didn't like my sarcasm, so here's a plain old boring answer.

I want the users feedback on the mechanics, comedy and storytelling of the game as I keep developing it.
This will allow me to better tailor the experience for the most enjoyment and to create something that will, hopefully, be remembered as a fun and bold take on the monster catching genre and modern topics.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I will do my best to complete the game and get it to full release as soon as possible.
I am working on this game every day for most of my day.
I am unable to give an exact release date at this time but I estimate that we will see Beltmon V1.0 by winter 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the finished version of Beltmon I plan to include:
- 9 cities with their neighboring areas
- At least 50 unique Beltmons plus their transformations
- A compelling story full of humor lasting multiple hours(speedrunners excluded)
- Fully custom pixel art
- Fully original soundtracks

100% free from any AI generated art
No lootboxes
No microtransactions
No subscriptions”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the time of release I plan to feature:
- 4 out of 9 of the planned cities and twice as many of the surrounding zones.
- A fully working turn-based combat system
- Leveling system
- Beltmon transformations
- Party system
- Partial story progression
- Mostly customized art
- At least 20 fully original Beltmons without counting their transformations
- Multiple fully original soundtracks”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this time I believe that the current price tag is a fair amount for an indie game of this scope as I am aware that nobody knows me or my work, and you might rightfully not trust me considering the many examples of abandoned early access projects out there.
Based on the feedback I will receive in the following months and the level of quality I can achieve by the time of release, I will consider raising the price accordingly later on.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I invite everyone to join the official Discord server to leave your feedback and remain more closely up to date with the development of Beltmon and any future projects.
I will personally check your feedback and keep it in consideration during the development process.”

About This Game

Belt 'em all!

Travel the land far and wide to add all Beltmon to your belt! (Cause that's where you keep 'em, not your pockets)
Dozens of unique creatures each with their transformations to form your personal team and challenge the champions of every city.

Depressive pixel art

Are you tired of colorful, bright and uplifting landscapes? Say no more!
With Beltmon's darker-than-necessary and gloomy unique art-style you will feel right at home.

Retro looks

A mix of 90s 8 and 16 bit pixel art to warm the hearts of those who have already lost their spark and to give the younger ones a taste of what we had to deal with.

Rock is the goat

In an age of electronic music, overproduced sounds and autotune, Beltmon's soundtracks will make you feel like it's the early 2000s again. Back when music was made of music.

Original storyline

Take on the role of Tray. 31, unemployed, still living with mom.
Why? Cause we know you can relate. Cmon. I do.

Meet numerous unique characters, each with their own personality, and challenge them to show who is the very best Beltmon User and to prove to your mom that you are not a waste of oxygen.

THIS IS A PARODY

If you're reading this and you're part of some billion dollars corporation that has nothing better to do than to throw lawsuits around like rice at a wedding, just don't, please, I'm just a broke fella.

This game is a PARODY and as such is protected under the EU law.

Any references or similarities with previously existing videogames or medias is entirely parodistic and satirical.
