What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to build Standard Procedure together with the people who play it. Early Access lets us get the game into players' hands early, gather meaningful feedback, and keep shaping the experience while it's still being made.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around a year and a half of early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“By full release, we plan to expand on missions, progression, and customization, alongside a level of polish that only comes from months of community feedback. We're aiming for around 15 levels in the full release, each introducing a unique gameplay mechanic, we aim for as much variety as possible. We also plan to add character customization.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable end-to-end with 1–4 players. Core systems are in place: mission briefings, objectives, extraction, and threat encounters. It's a stable foundation. Some missions and content planned for the full release aren't in yet, and we're still tuning balance and ironing out bugs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The price will stay the same at full release. Early adopters get the complete game at the same price, no penalty for waiting.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to how we're developing Standard Procedure. We're active on Discord, and we plan to use it to share dev updates, run polls, and have real conversations about what's working and what isn't. Bug reports and balance feedback from Early Access players will directly influence our update priorities. We're a small team that moves fast. When the community speaks up about something, we can actually act on it.”

About This Game

You and your friends are agents of the government. Your job is to do the dirty work, ask no questions, and earn hard cash. No two assignments are the same. Break into foreign embassies, bug homes, steal cursed artifacts, clean up crime scenes. Just make sure not to implicate anyone on your way out.

The office is yours between assignments. Smoke, drink, bother your colleagues, or just fidget with the typewriter until the next job comes in.

 Features:

  • Mission variety - take on a rotating slate of jobs, each with its own objectives, tone, and approach. No two missions are the same.

  • Work off your debt - every mission pays. Every missed payment costs. Clear your debt before time runs out.

  • Pneumatic tube briefings - mission dossiers arrive the old-fashioned way. Pull your brief from the tube, read it, get to work.

  • Proximity voice chat - coordinate with your partners, or don't.

  • Field necessities - smoke a cigarette, drink some whiskey, use whatever tools the job calls for. The government doesn't ask how you cope.

  • Equipment and consumables - a range of items to give you the edge on your missions. Some tactical, some less so.

  • 1–4 player co-op - bring a team or go alone. The work still needs to get done.

  • Classic noir with a few loose screws - crooked officials, dark alleys, and missions that get weirder the deeper you go.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Standard Procedure contains content that may not be suitable for all audiences.
This game features realistic violence, including blood, killing, bodily injury, and corpses, as well as depictions of suicide. It takes place in dark, bleak settings with themes of fear, horror, and crime.
The game also includes use of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs (including drug trafficking), mild profanity, and adult humor covering topics such as death, crime, mental health, and substance abuse. It contains simulated gambling environments and chance-based mechanics, though no real money is involved.
Standard Procedure supports online interactivity and in-game text and/or voice chat, which are not moderated by the developers.
