"Kamiya Detective Agency: High School Girl Vanished in The Summer" is a "Photoreal Novel" and mystery visual novel featuring a blend of real Fukuoka street photography and AI-generated visuals.
Home to Hakata Port—where passenger ferries to South Korea glide alongside international cargo ships—Fukuoka has long thrived as Japan's gateway to Asia. Nostalgic Showa-era food stalls in Nakasu, the hustle and bustle of Tenjin, the silence of Ohori Park—step into this vibrant, sweltering city and join detective Kengo Kamiya as he tackles a mystery that begins with a high school girl's disappearance.

◆ The Story

July 2025. A sweltering summer in Fukuoka.
Kengo Kamiya (29), a former police detective, has finally opened his own agency near Hakata Station alongside his assistant, Hikaru Omuta.
A few months in, the agency is painfully empty of clients. But finally, their very first case walks through the door.

"My daughter, Saki, is missing. Please find her."

Saki vanished on the day of her high school closing ceremony.
The police dismissed it as a simple runaway case and refused to investigate. With nowhere else to turn, her desperate mother places her last hope in Kamiya.
He takes the case. However, what started as a simple search takes a chaotic turn when unsettling rumors and a disturbing video surface online.

• Kengo Kamiya
  Head of the agency. A 29-year-old former cop who is cool-headed and excels at logical deduction—even though his newly opened agency currently has zero clients. He is notably handsome.
  
  
• Hikaru Omuta
  His 19-year-old assistant. A petite 140cm tall (or so she claims). Fresh out of high school with zero real-world work experience, she is a normal girl who is a bit too online and gamer-brained. She wears her massive crush on Kamiya on her sleeve.
  
  
• Saki Namihana
  The 17-year-old high school girl who went missing. She adopted a "Gyaru" subculture a year ago, changing her social circle. She vanished on the day of the closing ceremony.
  
  
• Mariko Namihana
  Saki's mother. Conservative and prone to worry. Though she struggles to understand her Gyaru daughter, she loves her deeply. She hires Kamiya to find her.

This game is an "AI Reality" production, with generative AI at the core of its creative process. All AI-generated assets are pre-rendered; no content is generated live during gameplay.

Visuals: Backgrounds use a combination of photographs taken on location in Fukuoka and images created with image generation AI. Event CGs and character images were created using image generation AI.

Video: Some video assets used in in-game sequences and promotional materials were produced using AI video generation technology.

Audio: BGM and some sound effects were created using AI music generation services.

Story: The scenario plot and script were written by a human creator. AI was used as a brainstorming and proofreading assistant, but all creative vision, decisions, and final writing are entirely human-driven.
