Why Early Access?

“We decided to enter Early Access because we want to complete TITANS with real-time feedback from the gaming community. We've always been great believers in open collaboration and would like our earliest fans to help us focus on key aspects and steer the game in a direction that everybody will love. As many of you know, we had to restart the development of the game from the ashes of the dead Voodoo, when the old dev team was forced out.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently we are expecting to be in Early Access for approximately eight months, with the final delivery in August 2018 and monthly updates. Considering the scope of the project that we've set out to deliver it's a tight timeframe and there is a lot to do.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version of the game we plan to have more features and expanded mechanics:

  • Six different Titans for our tribesmen to overcome
  • Four biomes, each with its own dedicated animals and plants
  • Advanced crafting, smithing and an Age System for extended gameplay
  • Tribes, alliances and territorial control for tighter communities
  • Special paths for our players. Are you a Tribal Guy or more of a Lone Wolf?
  • Each Age added will come with its own buildings, resources and items
  • More props and decors for your villages and cities
  • Constant tweaks and optimization to the netcode, improving latency and perceived lag

There's even more depth and complexity intended! We need support while we implement these first.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

We literally just restarted development from version 0.1, therefore expect a lot of bugs and unintended behaviours from the game. That being said, TITANS runs better than before, but there is still work ahead of us.

We’re currently focused on improving server stability and response.

Some of the features we have in the game are close to the final stage, others are just stubs to be implemented. During the Early Access period we will be actively cleaning out the bugs, hotfixing and shipping frequent updates including additional content with the help of our community. Currently we have:

  • 1 old, tired but very social gazelle
  • 6 armor sets
  • 7 weapons
  • A new map, smaller but more detailed. We have worked hard on that and we’ll keep iterating in every future update
  • A simple combat and hunting system
  • About half of our buildings, up to Coppersmithing technology

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we think we’ll increase the price once we get closer to version 1.0, especially we believe the final price of the game would be something like 19.99 USD. Considering we just restarted the full development of the game and it’s going to be a long year of sweat and blood in front of us, we’ll try as hard as possible to make it worth every last of your pennies ;)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Patch Notes 0.5.2: Autumn is coming

Hello Tribesmen, and welcome back.

August is gone, and the illusion of light and charm with it. Life can start anew in all it’s greyness and sweet, sweet despair.

While our programmers slowly baked in the Mediterranean sun, we gathered data and observed some nasty bugs that developed over time. In this update we fix several of them, addressing some odd and unintended consequence of massive resource exploitation.

As for our artists, they finished the buildings rework, addressing both performance and polish. UI and UX started serious production early this month and as part of that, we finalized some quality-of-life on workbenches and diegetic symbols. Hop into discord and help us by providing feedback with the new direction, as hopefully this time that will become Pretty Definitive(™).

UPDATED FEATURES
  • Updated all the buildings for the first two Ages of the game.
  • Animals no longer collide with the player, to avoid some nasty and unwanted consequences. Like plasma burns from orbital re-entry.

BUGFIXES
  • Fixed a bug that slowed down the player when moving diagonally. Third iteration, let’s hope for it to be the last.
  • Fixed a rare bug that stopped any and all sound in the game.
  • Fixed a resource bug that caused scarcity over long-ass periods of exploitation. Real life sucks, we don’t want any of that here.

TITANS 0.5.1: They came from the deep

Hello Tribesmen,

In today’s patch we update several game features hunting errors and squashing bugs. Our goal with this sprint was to fix some of the oldest ones that infested crafting, duplication and server-client negotiation.

Meanwhile, as a foundation for later work, we genetically spliced the Gazelle to finally obtain the perfect organism. Unclouded by conscience, remorse or the inability to return home. Our certified mad developers put a tiny bit of Lassie in them, while at the same time removing the Killer Whale sequences. It seemed such a good idea at the time, how could we have known they’ll develop a liking for oceanic trenches?

This, and our improved AI, will bring us a step forward in implementing other animals, including aggressive Lions and Baboons’ families. We expect that update to go live in september, since most of our programmers possess the strange notion of “vacation” and have insisted in actually going out in the sun instead of laying for most of august scripting fake ones.

NEW FEATURES
  • Gazelles will now properly return to their spawn point if left alone.
  • Gazelles’ herds will no longer deplete permanently under extensive hunting.

UPDATED FEATURES
  • Updated the damage system to be more reliable.
  • Suppressed the Bloody Gazelles attitude to occupy deep oceanic trenches. Hopefully they are back to their earthborne, herbivore ecological niche.
  • Optimized the animal AI to reduce CPU load in large numbers.
  • Trees no longer drop food when you hit them with an axe, since they refused to do so even when they should’ve.
  • Changed pickup mechanics. Now you’ll leave an item on the ground if the inventory is full instead of warping it out of existence.
  • Crafting subtracts the raw materials after the craft is complete, not before.
  • Crafting is aborted if the inventory is full at the time of creation.
  • Forges and warehouses can now be opened only by one player at a time to avoid duplication bugs and database conflicts.

BUGFIXES
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the player from interacting with workbenches.
  • Fixed a bug that let you pick up more items that you can hold.
  • Fixed a bug that let you craft items even if you could not.
  • Fixed a but that let you commit suicide by outrunning your own arrow.
  • Fixed a bug that let you commit suicide by running into a building with arrows struck in it. Seriously guys, the ingenuity!
  • Fixed a bug that let some gazelle ignore a few buildings despite the fact that they were expressly told not to.
  • Fixed a severe bug that disablet the personal respawn of Nomad Shelters.
  • Fixed a bug that let the Warden haunt you in your dreams after its death, screaming and rumbling.
  • Fixed a bug that let Giuda kill you silently with any weapon no matter the distance. Now you’ll hear the sound of your crushed bones, rejoice!
