Why Early Access?

“Ball & Gun is the "Ballpocalypse" we dreamed up as two best friends getting into game development, but after going viral with 2.7M views, we realized this isn't just our game, it's becoming our community. We are entering Early Access to expand support for the game as our community grows. During Early Access, we want to implement improvements and polish for global leaderboard, Crew Ops and Bracket Ops, refinements to the game’s "Basketball God" mechanics, new maps and progression systems, and scaling up our architecture to support multiplayer (synchronous PvP)! Early Access enables us to take this journey with you, the players who believed in us first.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access for exactly one year. Our roadmap is structured around four major milestones released quarterly, culminating in our Full Release (v1.0.0) on June 5, 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to transform Ball & Gun from a high-intensity proof-of-concept into a deep, competitive survival ecosystem. We plan to introduce significantly more complexity through expanded level progression, increased map variance, and a wider array of divine basketball powers and weapon synergies. We also plan to refine our real-time bracket tournament system and global leaderboard architecture to ensure that the competitive "Ballpocalypse" experience is as polished as it is chaotic.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version (v0.6.0) is a fully playable, high-energy experience that builds on the viral foundation of our Alpha. It features a complete visual overhaul, juicy VFX/SFX upgrades, level progression systems, and multiple map variants. The core loop—fighting off the horde with weapon and basketball powers—is stable, and our global leaderboard and tournament systems are live and ready for competitive play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our pricing philosophy is simple: reward the hustle of those who support us early. While our base price will remain consistent, we plan to offer our deepest discounts at the start of Early Access. As we hit our major milestones and the game grows in complexity and value, we plan to gradually reduce the depth of these discounts. Early buyers will receive all major updates for free, effectively locking in the lowest price we plan to offer before we move to full price for our 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We prioritize what's fun about our game. We are in the trenches on Discord, Twitch, WhatsApp, and constantly doing live events at conferences and indie shows. We host open weekly AMA voice chats and a monthly Stream-a-thon in our Discord. We post clips of every stream to Instagram for others to find. We plan to use player feedback and tournament data to balance powers, design new weapons, and tweak the "Ballpocalypse" to optimize for fun. Our approach from the jump to Ball & Gun has been a huge "what if," and going forward we want our community to help us envision what comes next.”
