Why Early Access?

“Mayhem À La Carte is starting off by giving players a smaller portion of the game with the intention of growing the feature set alongside Community feedback to provide the best experience possible. By gathering Community feedback we can expand the game content with regular updates that cater to the audience and what they enjoy most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game will be Early Access for a minimum of 6 months as we expect to at least double the amount of content during Early Access. This will be subject to the Community Feedback and the scope of the features we intend to include in the final game and may be extended if there is a strong desire from the Community for specific features. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game will be a complete experience with expanded content featuring more kitchen locations, challenges within the levels, more weapons, more recipes, more chefs and additional feature sets. The core gameplay experience is not planned to change but our Early Access journey will be to fine tune this experience and add on to this content with more variation of the existing content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access release aims to include 4-5 hours worth of content across two different kitchen locations. The experience is best played in multiplayer and so we would recommend playing in groups of 2-4 players to get the best experience. The core gameplay experience should be fully realised and will provide a mix of cooking and first-person shooter elements with a focus on cooking recipes to order. There will be limited recipes available at Early Access launch but each ingredient/meal could become a weapon if spoiled to go alongside your classic arsenal of guns so mayhem is sure to ensue throughout your play sessions. The visuals and the menu UI are subject to changes. Currently we are only supporting mouse and keyboard input but we will be investigating controller support during development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the Early Access price to be lower than the full game price but we will continue to review this over the course of Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We aim to involve the Community through utilising our Community channels to gather feedback. This will include on platform tools such as the Steam Community tools as well as external channels such as X, YouTube, Instagram, Discord and TikTok. Regular communication will be shared via these channels, especially after updates encouraging players to try the new content and share feedback through established channels.

We will confirm when Community feedback has been addressed through our Patch Notes so that players will know optimal times to jump back into the game. We will also aim to acknowledge helpful members of the community in-game in some way as a means of thanking them for their input – this is still being explored but something we would love to do.”
