Why Early Access?

“SHOWHAND is a game with a new feel that combines the deep strategy of deckbuilding with the fast-paced action of survival games. The delicate balance created by the synergy between poker hands, special Joker cards, and real-time deck control amidst enemy waves can only be perfected through player feedback. As a solo developer, I decided on Early Access to work closely with the community and actively integrate your valuable feedback to maximize the fun of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for the Early Access period to last approximately 6 to 9 months. However, this timeframe is flexible and may be adjusted based on valuable player feedback and the progress of additional content development. The official release will happen when the game reaches our targeted level of quality and volume.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we are planning to expand the overall volume and depth of the game. We aim to complete and introduce the full roster of 16 playable characters, and significantly increase the variety of Joker cards to create even more diverse deckbuilding synergies. Additionally, we are planning to add new event missions and enemy patterns. The final version will also include UI/UX polishing and meticulous balancing based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version features a fully implemented and stable core gameplay loop of SHOWHAND. You can immediately experience the combat system using a standard 52-card deck, the 'Dynamic Collapse' system that replaces the HP bar, a 12-minute (720 seconds) run with 4 scaling difficulty stages, and in-game sudden event missions (Blackjack, Memory, etc.). Several unique base characters and 16 Joker synergies are available, along with the permanent stat upgrade and deck editing (Ban) meta-progression in the lobby.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As we plan to add new content and features leading up to the full release, the price is expected to increase slightly when the game leaves Early Access. Naturally, those who support the development journey by purchasing the game during the Early Access phase will not need to pay any extra costs.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The voice of the community is the most important compass in my solo development journey. I will actively listen to your creative ideas, bug reports, and balance feedback primarily through the Steam Discussions. Furthermore, I will transparently share upcoming update plans via regular Devlogs and communicate how your feedback is being integrated into the game, finishing SHOWHAND together with all of you.”
