What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“At this stage, we believe Second Monitor Gladiators already offers a fun and complete core experience. You can manage your ludus, send gladiators into battle, and progress both in singleplayer and multiplayer. However, we still have many ideas for new gladiator types, upgrades, balance improvements, and quality-of-life features.

Early Access allows us to gather player feedback to fine-tune progression, battle balance, and multiplayer systems. The game is close to its final vision, but it needs polishing, tuning, and community input before a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Making a game is challenging, and finishing it properly takes time. Our current plan is to stay in Early Access for a few months, but the exact duration will depend on community feedback and how the game evolves. If players suggest good ideas or improvements, we want to take the time to implement and polish them before leaving Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I want Second Monitor Gladiators to feel like a complete and polished ludus management experience. The full release is planned to expand on the core systems with additional content, balance improvements, and new gameplay features. One of the major additions planned for the full version is hosted arena events, allowing players to organize and participate in special battles with unique rewards.

I also plan to improve progression, add more gladiator options and upgrades, and refine multiplayer interactions to increase replayability and long-term engagement. my goal is to make the full version feel deeper, more varied, and fully realized.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Second Monitor Gladiators includes the complete core gameplay loop. Players can manage their ludus, train and send gladiators into automated battles, earn gold, and upgrade their facilities. Both singleplayer and multiplayer modes are playable, allowing gladiators to fight AI opponents or other players’ fighters.

While the foundation of the game is solid and fully playable, some systems are still being refined. Balance adjustments, additional content, quality-of-life improvements, and performance optimizations will continue throughout Early Access based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I haven’t finalized the pricing yet. During Early Access, the price may change as new features and content are added. My goal is to offer fair value at every stage of development, and any pricing decisions will reflect the current state and scope of the game. I’ll share more details as development continues.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community closely throughout development. Player feedback will play a major role in shaping balance, features, and future content. I’ll actively listen to suggestions, bug reports, and ideas shared by players and use them to guide updates and improvements.

Community discussions, feedback from gameplay experience, and ideas from players will directly influence how Second Monitor Gladiators evolves during Early Access and beyond.”

About This Game

Second Monitor Gladiators is a lightweight ludus management game built specifically to be played or watched alongside your main activity. Train your gladiators, send them into battles, earn gold, and steadily grow your ludus into a legendary arena powerhouse—all without demanding your full attention.

The game focuses on meaningful strategic decisions rather than heavy micromanagement. Assign gladiators to fights, manage upgrades, and observe battles unfold while you work, browse, stream, or play another game.

Play solo against AI-controlled opponents or enter multiplayer, where your gladiators face off against fighters trained by other players. Victories earn gold, reputation, and the resources needed to strengthen your roster.
