Why Early Access?

“This story is not one that can be told quickly. Both writing the story and creating the images and animations takes a considerable amount of time and effort. Early Access allows me to get the game in front of players early, and to be able to use feedback from early players to correct issues and improve future content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Unexpected Consequences will be six chapters long, plus an epilogue. As of version 0.22.1, the game contains up through Chapter 5. Posing and rendering the CG stills and animations is the greatest factor in development time, but I have worked towards reducing the time taken through process improvements and updated hardware. I am currently hard at work on Chapter 6 and plan to release the final major update, containing Chapter 6 and the epilogue, by the end of 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include the complete story of six chapters plus epilogue and I am currently plotting three or four major alternate endings along with many minor differences based on your choices.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early Access version currently contains through Chapter 5. This is over 195,000 words of narration and dialog, almost 14,000 4K 3D images, and 278 4K 60 FPS animations, many with multiple angles to choose from.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I am no longer planning to increase the price upon leaving early access.”

“Feedback from players is a valuable resource that will help to correct issues and guide future work to make Unexpected Consequences the best it can be.

About This Game

A Story of Intrigue and Passion

In Unexpected Consequences, you will step into the role of a sophomore at Ocean City University with a tragic past. Three years after a close friend's unfortunate accident, followed shortly by the death of your parents, two new young women come into your life, triggering a chain of events that lead to you reconnecting with your first love and learning the truth about the events of three years ago.

With the help of some of your parents' former FBI colleagues and an international task force, you'll dive headfirst into an investigation that will expose a ruthless syndicate whose reach extends far beyond Ocean City, making new friends along the way and choosing which relationships to nurture into something more. Be careful, though, as some choices will make you the arbiter of life and death, and some consequences may just be unexpected.
