About This Demo

ASANA Demo is the playable prologue for ASANA, a sci-fi dark comedy visual novel about an oblivious death-god captain, a judgmental cat-shaped ship AI, and a universe that keeps exploding in suspiciously personal ways.

This demo includes Chapters 1 (English, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese)

You play as Captain Asana, commander of the 82. A planet has just exploded behind you, your ship AI N.E.K.O. is acting like he knows more than he says, and Cat-Ptain Paradox is closing in fast. Build your starting stats, make choices, unlock stat-based options, and try to survive the opening disaster without making the universe noticeably worse.

What is included in this demo:

- Chapter 1: the opening disaster, stat setup, early character choices, and N.E.K.O. free-talk.

- Stat-based options for Captain, Explorer, Pilot, and Charm.

- Live AI scenes powered by the Anthropic Claude API.

- Offline fallback dialogue so the story can continue if the API is unavailable.

- About 10-15 minutes for one playthrough

The full game is planned as a longer multi-chapter visual novel with more AI-driven challenges, branching routes, character consequences, and escalating cosmic nonsense. 8 chapters for the first release

About the AI:

Some scenes use live AI text generation through the Anthropic Claude API. These moments require an internet connection. The AI is used for in-character conversations and structured gameplay challenges, not for core game logic, saves, or progression outside those scenes.

This game uses live generative AI through the Anthropic Claude API during specific gameplay scenes.

In the demo, AI is used for:
- N.E.K.O. free-talk, where the player can ask the ship AI limited in-character questions.
- A Chapter 2 persuasion/debate challenge, where the model evaluates player text and returns a structured result.

In the full game, AI is used for additional bounded minigames, including conversation, persuasion, tactical planning, insult-comedy judging, and legal-argument judging.

The AI only generates short text responses or structured JSON gameplay judgments. It does not generate images, audio, video, executable code, or multiplayer/user-to-user content during gameplay.
