ASANA Demo is the playable prologue for ASANA, a sci-fi dark comedy visual novel about a mysterious captain with a dark secret, a judgmental cat-shaped ship AI, and a universe that keeps exploding in suspicious ways.

Controls

Play with only a mouse, only a keyboard, or both. A controller is optional (partial controller support). The in-game keyboard lets mouse users enter written answers using Latin, accented Latin and Cyrillic characters.

You play as Captain Asana, commander of the 82. Your ship AI N.E.K.O. is acting like he knows more than he says, and Cat-Ptain Paradox is closing in fast, actually too fast, KABOOM!!! Build your starting stats, make choices, unlock stat-based options, and try to survive without making the universe noticeably worse.

What is included in this demo:

- Chapters 1 and 2: the opening disaster, stat setup, character choices, N.E.K.O. free-talk, the encounter with Paradox, and a Chapter 2 persuasion challenge.

- Stat-based options for Captain, Explorer, Pilot, and Charm.

- Live AI scenes powered by the Anthropic Claude API.

- Optional English generated speech for eligible N.E.K.O. replies, powered by ElevenLabs.

- Offline fallback dialogue so the story can continue if the API is unavailable.

Online feature allowances

Internet is required for live AI conversations, challenge evaluation and new generated speech. You can turn online AI off and continue the story with built-in responses.

Online features include up to 200 AI requests to use across chats and minigames, plus 50 English voice-generation requests per installation. These allowances are shared across playthroughs. When a limit is reached, the game remains playable using text and built-in offline alternatives. Prerecorded voices and already-generated cached audio remain available.

The full game is planned as a longer multi-chapter visual novel with more AI-driven challenges, branching routes, character consequences, and escalating cosmic nonsense. The full story is planned across 8 chapters.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI assisted the creation of background image assets, music, some localization and coding during development. The developer directs the story, characters and final creative decisions.

In the demo, optional online features use Anthropic Claude for short, in-character N.E.K.O. conversations and the Chapter 2 persuasion challenge. Eligible displayed N.E.K.O. replies, including recaps, can receive English speech through ElevenLabs. No images, video or executable code are generated during gameplay.

Internet is required for online generation. Each installation includes 200 AI requests shared across conversations and challenge evaluation, plus up to 50 English voice-generation requests, shared across playthroughs. Built-in offline responses keep the story playable when online services or allowances are unavailable. Recorded dialogue and cached generated audio remain playable.
