About This Game

Age of Longbow: Volume I

March into one of medieval Europe's longest and most decisive conflicts in Age of Longbow Volume I, a detailed tactical wargame covering the campaigns and battles of the Hundred Years War between England, France, and their allies.

Beginning with the dynastic crisis following the death of Charles IV in 1328, Age of Longbow Volume I follows the rise of English and French rivalry into full-scale war. From the campaigns of Edward III and the Black Prince to the shifting alliances of Castile, Brittany, and beyond, the game captures the rise, collapse, and resurgence of power across more than a century of conflict. Relive famous victories such as Crécy, Poitiers and Agincourt, the shifting fortunes of the Caroline phase, Joan of Arc and the siege of Orleans and the decisive final struggles that shaped the fate of France and England.

Take command in Age of Longbow Volume I, where detailed hex-based maps place you in control of medieval armies fighting across fields, fortresses, and contested frontiers. Every battle reflects the realities of the era: various infantry formations, devastating longbow volleys, cavalry charges and the constant challenge of supply and command.

Medieval Warfare in Transition

The Hundred Years War was not defined by a single style of warfare.
Age of Longbow Volume I captures the evolving nature of medieval combat across more than a century of conflict, where:

  • Longbow dominance reshaped battlefield tactics

  • Cavalry charges could win or lose a battle in moments

  • Sieges and fortified positions determined control

Fight across varied terrain where:

  • Strongholds and cities anchor strategic positions

  • Roads, rivers, and terrain shape movement and supply

  • Fatigue, morale, and leadership influence every engagement

From major set-piece battles to smaller clashes, raids, and defensive actions, the game recreates the full spectrum of medieval warfare.
