About This Game

The world is failing. Restore the scriptures. Find the lost monarch!

BLOODSCRIPT//END is a turn-based ASCII roguelike built for runs under 30 minutes and characters you'll remember long after they're dead. Every fallen hero leaves behind a legacy that shapes future runs, allowing you to combine inherited powers, unique equipment, and rare discoveries into devastating builds and synergies. Fight through procedural dungeon levels and uncover fragments of a dying world one run at a time. Enemy, spells, and environments are rendered through animated ASCII glyphs, creating a world that feels equal parts forgotten terminal and dying scripture.

Every weapon has its own rhythm in battle. Press the attack and your combo deepens, unlocking increasingly powerful techniques before culminating in a devastating finisher. A mace plays nothing like a dagger. A spear plays nothing like a staff.  Weapons level up through kills, and with each level they gain damage and new bark lines, short voice fragments that change as the weapon grows. The Cursed Blood Blade's barks, across four stages, trace the consciousness of a general slowly consumed through a blood vow he signed centuries ago.

Three Classes. Three Philosophies. Three Ways to Survive.

Flower Knight: The last guardians of a forgotten cycle. They fight through grace rather than strength, sustaining themselves through every wound they inflict. Where others survive by caution, Flower Knights survive by never stopping.

Abductor: Executioners of a vanished kingdom. Momentum is their weapon. Every charge drives enemies before them, every collision becomes a sentence carried out in steel and stone.

Luminarch Scribe: Scholars of the divine language that once shaped reality. Every scripture bends the world further from what it was meant to be, turning careful incantations into impossible chains of miracles, disasters, and revelations.

Build depth through reactive layers. Create synergies between blessings, weapons, spells, equipment, and the legacy of characters who came before you. Stack reactive effects until your character becomes a machine of impossible coincidences: spells that trigger when enemies die, healing that erupts from near-fatal wounds, attacks that unleash chain reactions across an entire room.

Choose from 40 Blessings, 21 leveling Relics, and procedurally generated Rings and Amulets, each capable of transforming how a run unfolds. Build around survival, retaliation, spellcasting, critical strikes, Blood Surge generation, or combinations no designer intended.

By the end of a successful run, your character is no longer defined by a single weapon or ability, but by a web of interconnected effects unique to that playthrough. Nine damage types, status effects, resistances, and a combo economy that rewards both aggression and endurance provide the foundation for endless experimentation.

Six Biomes. Sixteen Bosses. One Lost Monarch. Adventure out into a lost world to find the last monarch, and to restore the failing scriptures. Traverse a series of mandatory and optional worlds, all with unique flavour and mechanics. Among them:

  • Ash Catechism of the Forlorn Princess: A kingdom reduced to cinders. Statues watch from beneath drifting ash while forgotten sermons echo through ruined halls, praising the return of their beloved princess.

  • Weeping March of the Golden King: An endless battlefield where broken banners still mark the graves of armies that never stopped marching in the name of a Golden King.

  • Silent Cathedral of the Undying Queen: A desert sanctuary of marble and indigo water in a once great kingdom, where every face has been erased.

  • Forgotten Palace: The capital usurped by the lost monarch. Its halls stand untouched, yet every wall bleeds black ink from scriptures nobody remembers writing.

Your Legacy Carries Forward. Every dead character leaves a mark on the next. After each run, record a Legacy: a named snapshot of your character's final stats. In future runs, equip that Legacy  as a modifier. Your past character's stat distribution shapes the growth rates of your current one. Attribute growth,  XP bonuses, and unique Legacy Feats compound across runs. The longer your lineage grows, the more options future characters inherit. Items remember you too. Weapons and spells found in one run start at their earned level the next time they appear.
