Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is playable end to end with 100 knowledge decks, 68,000+ facts, 98 card mechanics, 90 relics, 89 enemies. You can pick a deck, fight a full run, and studying languages/topics is fully integrated. But a knowledge game is only as good as its content, and we can't test that alone. We need players telling us which decks feel off, which distractors are too obvious, where the difficulty curves break. Early Access gets us that feedback while the game is still easy to change. We expect to find bugs and the need for some balance optimisation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for 6 to 12 months. The gameplay is complete. What remains is more content, balance tuning from real player data, and the features listed below. We'd rather take the time than name a date we can't keep.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:
- More knowledge decks based on what players actually request. The current catalogue reflects our best approximation of a well-rounded Trivia/Study base.
- Steam Workshop so players can make, share, and subscribe to each other's decks.
- Daily seeded challenges with global leaderboards.
- Anki deck import. Bring your own flashcards, play them as combat runs, and export these back to Anki.
- More enemies, relics, and card mechanics as the balance settles, possibly divided among player classes with better integration with quizzing.
- UI/content translations beyond English.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable start to finish. Two modes.

Trivia Dungeon is the roguelite. Pick a deck, fight through three acts, beat the bosses. 20 ascension levels for when the base difficulty stops hurting.

Study Temple is the learning mode. Same combat, weighted toward retention. Spaced repetition tracks what you know and what you don't. Weak spots come back more often. Strong spots fade to the back of the queue.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not planning of monetising the game at any phase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback on the knowledge content is why we're doing Early Access. We read deck reviews, quiz complaints, and balance reports on Steam discussions and community channels. Workshop support is planned so players can build and publish their own decks. If a subject is missing, you won't need to wait for us.

About This Game

THE KNOWLEDGE ROGUELITE

Every card in your deck is a real fact. Answer a question to charge it. Charged cards hit harder. Much harder.

Skip the question and play it safe for base damage. Get the answer wrong and the card still fires, just weaker. You're never punished for trying.

The game tracks what you know with FSRS, the same spaced repetition algorithm behind Anki. Facts you struggle with come back more often. Facts you've nailed fade to the back of the queue. You're winning because you're learning. That's the whole trick.

Chain cards from the same topic back-to-back. Two history facts in a row? 1.5x multiplier. Five in a row? 3.5x.

HOW COMBAT WORKS

Five cards per turn. Each one is a mechanic (Strike, Block, Hex, Overclock, Transmute) with a chain color linking it to a topic in your deck. 3 action points.

Quick Play fires the card instantly. Base damage, no questions asked.

Charge Play costs an extra action point and pulls up a quiz. Get it right and the card hits harder. Get it wrong and the card still resolves at reduced power.

Three quick plays per turn, or one charged play and one quick. The right call changes every fight.

ENEMIES THAT CARE WHAT YOU KNOW

89 enemies across three dungeon regions. Some react directly to your quiz performance.

  • The Peer Reviewer gains strength every turn you don't charge
  • Pop Quiz is stunned by correct answers but grows if you play it safe
  • The Curriculum becomes immune to quick plays halfway through
  • The Crib Sheet mirrors your wrong-answer damage back at you
  • 8 bosses with phase transitions. The Final Lesson quizzes you at 66% and 33% HP

100 DECKS. 68,000 FACTS.

Pick your deck before each run. Every deck is curated, real knowledge.

  • History Ancient Greece, Rome, WWII, Medieval World, US Presidents, AP World History, AP U.S. History, AP European History
  • Science Periodic Table, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, Dinosaurs & Paleontology
  • 8 Languages Japanese (JLPT N5-N1), Chinese (HSK 1-6), Spanish (A1-C2), French (A1-B2), German, Korean, Czech, Dutch
  • 620,000+ Chess Puzzles Elo-rated tactics on an interactive board. No multiple choice.
  • Social Sciences AP Psychology, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics
  • And more Famous Paintings, World Flags, Medical Terminology, Computer Science, Philosophy, Ocean Life, World Cuisines, NASA Missions

CARDS, RELICS, CHAINS

  • 98 card mechanics across 6 types. Strikes, shields, hexes, buffs, debuffs, wild cards. Mastery levels 0-5 that scale as you answer correctly.
  • 90 relics that shape your build. Quicksilver Quill rewards fast answers. Scholar's Crown amplifies review queue cards. Volatile Core hits 50% harder but wrong answers hurt.
  • Knowledge Chains 3 chain colors per run from your deck's topics. Charge same-color cards in sequence for up to 3.5x multiplier.
  • 20 ascension levels for when the base game stops hurting enough.

THE DUNGEON

Three regions. Combat, shops, rest sites, treasure rooms, mystery events. The Burning Library. The Wrong Answer Museum. The Riddle Stranger.

Rest at the campfire. Heal, or study three questions to level up your cards without combat pressure. The Keeper sits by the fire. They've been there longer than you.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY

Trivia Dungeon The roguelite. Pick a deck, fight through three acts, beat the bosses.

Study Temple Pick a deck and study it. FSRS-weighted selection focuses on what you're struggling with. Combat is still there, but the emphasis shifts to retention.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI was carefully used for structuring the majority of content available in the decks, given the vast breadth of the topics/languages available. However, every piece of information was extracted from publicly available curated sources, where AI was used for the re-writing the facts into questions. Also, in general the distractors (wrong answers) are intelligently chosen at runtime based on similar answers of similar length, however it can occur that certain answer pools where too small for reasonable gameplay. For this, fake answers were generated by AI as well, albeit rarely.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This application explores many topics and tens of thousands of pieces of knowledge. Although I have attempted to handle political, historical, and mature topics in a sensitive manner, this may nonetheless lead to information on the screen that might require discretion for sensitive audiences.
