ABOUT THIS GAME

Ancient Bloods: Shadowborn Rising is a 2.5D side-scrolling action roguelite set in Predynastic Ancient Egypt, where survival is measured by time, not health.

This is not a redemption arc.

The journey begins with Apep, a priest drawn into the truth of his forsaken bloodline and pulled toward the chaos he was born to embrace. Across the full game, players will follow six planned villain-origin paths, each built around a different way to move, fight, survive, and claim power.

TIME IS YOUR LIFE

Shadowborn Rising replaces the traditional health bar with a time-based survival system.

Enemy attacks do not simply remove health. They stagger, delay, and interrupt you, costing precious time as you push towards the next Anchor. When your energy is depleted, you are pulled back to the last Anchor you reached.

Every mistake costs time.
Every fight becomes a decision.
Every run is a race against collapse.

A DARKER ANCIENT EGYPT

Shadowborn Rising unfolds across a mythic version of ancient Egypt, from temples and deserts to coastal cities, settlements, hidden ruins, and stranger spaces touched by the unseen.

FIGHT, MOVE, RETURN, RISE

Each push from an Anchor sends you through combat spaces, traversal routes, and side encounters, with the goal of reaching the next Anchor before your energy runs out.

Collect Silver to strengthen future attempts.
Recover Fragments to unlock deeper chaos powers.
Reclaim enough power to forge the Keys of Eternity, ancient vessels that allow each character to rise closer to their true potential.

Some routes make the push safer.
Harder paths offer greater rewards.
Every return asks you to adapt, improve, and descend again.

SIX PATHS INTO DARKNESS

Apep is only the beginning.

Later character paths are planned to change how players approach movement, combat, survival, upgrades, and progression. Some paths may lean into stealth, ranged control, speed, precision, or traversal, while others may remove familiar combat assumptions altogether.

The core time-based roguelite structure remains, but each character is designed to reshape how the player moves through ancient Egypt.
