About This Demo

In this demo you will get a hands-on introduction to the core gameplay mechanics. You can generate your first 100 units of energy by burning basic trash bags and experience the first level of the game. You will be able to restore the Shaft’s health using a special gear. You will also find batteries that can restore your energy or increase your speed if things get difficult, but they affect both you and the pests, so be careful. Monitor the system and enjoy the process.
Shaftkeeper is an indie work simulator where you play as a maintenance robot responsible for keeping a giant industrial machine alive.

Your job is simple:
collect trash bags and burn them in the furnace to generate energy and keep the massive Shaft spinning.

But the system is constantly falling apart.

As the mechanism turns, dangerous blockages appear in the gears, slowly damaging the machine. At the same time, pest robots swarm the Shaft like mechanical rats, trying to sabotage the entire system.

Monitor the Shaft’s condition, keep the furnace running, manage your own energy, and prevent the machine from collapsing.

If your energy runs out or the Shaft is destroyed, it's game over.
