What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching in Early Access because the game is already playable today, but it still needs more testing, tuning, and polish. Early Access gives us time to improve features, add and balance enemies in Campaign mode, and continue fixing and tuning multiplayer with player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to stay in Early Access for at least several months, but we do not want to set a firm end date too early. The timeline depends on testing, balance work, and how much tuning and bug fixing the game still needs.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to include a more complete and better-balanced Campaign mode, a broader enemy lineup, improved multiplayer stability, and more overall polish across the game. The exact scope may change during Early Access as we continue development and respond to feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable today. Core gameplay is in place, Campaign mode is playable, and multiplayer is available and functional. Multiplayer still has some bugs, and the game still needs more balance, tuning, and general polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to be somewhat higher after Early Access as more content, fixes, and polish are added. Early Access players will be getting in earlier at a lower price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use community feedback throughout Early Access to help guide development. We’ll pay close attention to bug reports, balance feedback, and player suggestions, especially for Campaign tuning and multiplayer, and use that feedback to help prioritize updates.”

About This Game

You sat down. You picked up the cards. Everything after that was already his.

Grimshaw's Blotto is a gothic 1v1 card-and-dice strategy game where every round is played in secret. Commit your Bones to two lanes, tuck Graces, Blights, and Pith face-down beside them, then reveal and roll. Your dice are your attack and your defense at once: the higher result wins the lane and deals the difference in damage.

But the table is never satisfied. Winners can bleed Dram to draft stronger cards. Pith cards offer terrifying power at a visible cost. After the first lane resolves, the victor can Press their advantage and turn the second lane into a double-damage gamble. Every good play asks the same question: how much are you willing to bleed for power?

Face Grimshaw's Inner Circle in a single-player campaign, or challenge another player in online 1v1 matches. The room never changes, only its mood: candles gutter, shadows deepen, the chair across from you fills, and the table keeps taking.

Key Features

  • 1v1 card-and-dice duels built around simultaneous hidden placement

  • A two-lane system where every roll is both offense and defense

  • Visible Bones and hidden effect cards that create bluffing, reads, and reversals

  • Draft stronger dice and harsher effects after each round as both decks escalate

  • Spend Dram to buy power, unleash Pith cards, and risk everything on The Press

  • A gothic single-room campaign against Grimshaw's monstrous Inner Circle

  • Online multiplayer for head-to-head duels at the same cursed table
