What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Data Center Simulator is a training-focused simulation with deep technical content. Early Access lets us work directly with real data center professionals and aspiring technicians to make sure every scenario, procedure, and tool is accurate and useful. Your feedback shapes what we build next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for 6-12 months. The core simulation is fully playable today with 45 scenarios. We will use Early Access to add more scenarios, expand the facility, and refine procedures based on community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the simulation during Early Access with things like additional scenario categories, more facility areas, deeper contract and customer systems, and community-created training content. The final feature set will be guided by player feedback during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable with 45 training scenarios across 9 categories, a complete career progression system, contract system, tool unlocks, full 3D data center environment, visible network cable visualization with packet flow, and a working grading system. The core gameplay loop is complete and stable.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes — the launch price at full release will be higher than the Early Access price, reflecting the added scenarios and features. All Early Access purchases include every future update at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We actively read and respond to all feedback. Players can suggest new scenario types, report inaccurate procedures, and vote on which features we prioritize next through our Steam Community Hub and Discord.”

About This Game

You just clocked in for your first shift at DataCenter One.

Data Center Simulator puts you on the floor of a realistic data center facility where every rack, cable, and system is your responsibility. This isn't a clicker or an idle game — it's a hands-on training tool wrapped in a first-person experience that teaches the same procedures used in real facilities worldwide to prepare you for real world DC Tech Interviews.

ARRIVE. BADGE IN. GET TO WORK.

Start each shift by clearing the security mantrap with your badge, checking in with the guard, and reviewing your task board. Read your shift handover emails. Check the NOC console for facility status. Then head to the floor.

45+ TRAINING SCENARIOS ACROSS 9+ CATEGORIES

  • Hardware Operations — PSU swaps, fan tray replacements, drive carrier hot-swaps
  • Structured Cabling — Copper uplinks, fiber patching, TIA-606 labeling audits
  • Network Troubleshooting — CRC errors, VLAN misconfigurations, duplex mismatches, STP loops, BGP flaps
  • Cooling Operations — CRAH failures, hot aisle breaches, chilled water valve adjustments
  • Power Operations — Utility transfers, UPS battery tests, generator load banks, full failover drills
  • Rack Deployment — Single rack commissions to full row deployments
  • Security Operations — Badge reader repairs, tailgating response, fire suppression drills, incident forensics
  • Capacity Planning — Power audits, cooling analysis, growth forecasts, PUE optimization
  • Production Floor — Thermal drift response, shift handovers, maintenance windows, emergency response
Each category has 5 levels that unlock progressively as you prove your skills.

REAL PROCEDURES. REAL TOOLS.

Every scenario follows real-world procedures. Equip your ESD wrist strap before touching hardware. Run system diagnostics to identify faults. Use the hardware work panel to disconnect cables, unscrew retention screws, extract modules, and install replacements — step by step. Configure VLANs, ping management IPs, and run terminal commands with realistic output.

BUILD YOUR CAREER

Earn grades (S, A, B, C) based on speed, accuracy, and safety compliance. Level up your technician rank, earn money from contracts, unlock professional tools, and build skills across six disciplines: Hardware, Network, Power, Cooling, Safety, and Operations.

A LIVING FACILITY

Radio chatter from the NOC. Shift handover emails from the night crew. Alarms firing. Temperatures drifting. UPS loads shifting. Visible network cables with animated packet flow showing live traffic between racks. The facility lives and breathes around you while you work.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

  • Anyone curious about what happens inside a data center
  • Students and career changers preparing for data center technician roles
  • IT professionals who want to practice procedures in a safe environment
  • Simulation and management game fans who want something different
