About This Game

You wake in a cryostasis tube at the end of the universe, surrounded by robotic corpses in a strange temple, all of them facing you. You don't know how long you've been here. You don't know why they're there.

Humanity found a way out. A path beyond this reality, escaping the impending heat death of the universe. While humans ascended beyond the physical dimension, the machine minds that coexisted alongside them, that loved them, could not follow.

What lies ahead of you is the result of a 100 trillion year wait. A superstructure of impossible scale wrapped around a black hole, constructed by powerful and advanced machine intelligence that refused to let the universe simply end. It is deteriorating now, collapsing as Hawking radiation causes the structure to become unstable.

Temple of the Machine God is a first-person ambient horror game about exploration, isolation, and what was left behind. Move through vast corridors that haven't felt human footsteps in billions of years. Explore the superstructure, find your way to the ship and leave before the structure collapses.

Intentional pixel aesthetic — a handcrafted visual style that makes the impossible feel intimate

A complete, self-contained narrative experience

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Temple of the Machine God contains mild mature content. Players may encounter unsettling environmental details including biological remnants, organic growth, and decayed matter throughout the superstructure. Some areas contain blood or unidentified fluid, egg sacs, and other disturbing organic elements presented through environmental storytelling rather than graphic depiction.
Players can engage automated defense systems which explode when destroyed. There is no gore, no human violence, and no combat beyond neutralizing mechanical threats.
