“The price may rise slightly for the full release. Early Access buyers will not pay again.”

About This Game

Build. Fight. Raid. Win the race for Glory.

Fortain is a fast medieval strategy game set in the age of the great Mamluk and Mongol wars. Up to 16 castles share one world map. Every lord builds, trains and raids, and when the match clock runs out, the lord with the most Glory wins. Not the biggest castle: the most Glory.

Grow your castle

  • Build farms, lumber camps, quarries, mines, mints and jade workshops and keep six resources flowing.
  • Upgrade your Town Hall, raise storage, protect your goods in the Warehouse and trade at the Marketplace.
  • Send Trading Carts to the towns of the map for gold, rare ore and new recruits.

Raise a real army

  • Train dozens of unit types across five categories: Infantry, Cavalry, Seekers, Mystics and Arsenal.
  • Each category counters another, so the army you build decides the battles you can win.
  • Forge weapons and armour on your anvils, hire Siege Engineers and Armourers, and keep your troops fed and their morale high.

Raid, defend, conquer

  • Raid rival castles with Thieves and offence troops and carry their resources home.
  • Hold your walls with Janissaries and defence troops when rivals come for yours.
  • Destroy the Horde's Raid Camps, hunt the Elves of the wild lands and survive barbarian attacks.
  • Storm the Great Horde Fortress for the biggest Glory of all.

Play alone or with friends

  • Solo: face up to 15 AI lords, each from its own dynasty with its own bonus, on difficulties from Calm to Fierce.
  • Multiplayer: host a match on Steam for up to 8 players, fill the other castles with AI, chat in game and pause together.
  • Dropped out? Press RECONNECT and you are back in your match.

Sixteen dynasties

Lead the Mamluks, Seljuks, Fatimids, Abbasids, Ayyubids, Mughals, Ottomans and many more. Every dynasty brings its own colours and its own bonus to offence or defence.

Early Access

Fortain is complete and playable from start to finish. During Early Access we will balance the game with your feedback, polish it and keep improving multiplayer.
