About This Game

A dwarven mining expedition has gone silent — and you uncover might be more than it seems on the surface.

Overview

Beneath Cloudvein is a single-developer project, with a focus on story, immersion and role-playing, which you will be able to complete in a couple of hours. However, you might want to replay the game for a different ending later on.

Setting

The game takes place in the Lightcrowned Mountains, in the Cloudvein Plateau, where a dwarven expedition seemingly vanished. You are tasked with investigating what happened, and to do this you’ll travel the area, discover its remote communities and challenge adversaries.

Gameplay and progression

Through your journey you will meet the inhabitants of the Plateau. You will be able to talk to them, undertake quests and discover a conflict brewing in your path. By engaging with people, you will be able to gain essential skills and gear before facing the strange enemies in the mine. 

Combat

Combat in Beneath Cloudvein is real time, you will need to use parrying or positioning to gain an advantage over your enemies.

Immerse yourself in the world

The game was designed to be immersive, with a minimalist user interface. In-game you will be able to find an overview of the game world, a map together with all your active quests and their details. You will use this map in addition to a compass to find your way around the Plateau.

The outcomes of your actions

Your actions during the game will affect not only your outcomes, but the fate of the locals and how a yet unknown conflict will escalate. Depending on what you do, you will determine the key points of your ending.

Soundtrack

The game features an original orchestral soundtrack to make your journey more enjoyable. With your purchase, you will also receive a lossless copy of the soundtrack.
