About This Game

ABOUT THIS GAME

Save the Game is a straightforward but punishing Action FPS and Platformer. Your core loop is simple: survive the maze, find the Master Key, and reach the PC to achieve our main goal: literally "Save" the game and move to the next level.

The Maze & Progression

Every level is a labyrinth protected by laser traps and locked gates.

  • Diamonds & Gates: Regular locked gates block your path. You need to explore the maze to find Diamonds—one Diamond opens one gate.

  • The Master Key: Every level has one specific gate that leads to the end. To open it, you must find the single Master Key hidden in the level.

  • Save the Game: Behind that specific gate is a Gaming PC. Reach it, trigger the cutscene, save your progress, and jump to the next level.

Combat: Rifle, Drone, and Souls

You start the game with your primary Rifle. At the end of Level 2, a friendly NPC equips you with a tactical Drone (fired using Right-Click).

The Enemy Threat:

  • Tiny Zombies: They don't deal damage, but they swarm and push you around, messing up your aim and positioning.

  • Club Runners: Basic melee enemies that will relentlessly chase you down.

  • Machine-Gun Bots: The biggest threat. If their bullets hit you, you are momentarily stunned and rooted in place.

The Soul System: When you kill enemies with your Drone, they drop Souls. These souls will literally chase you down to enter your body. Let them. Absorbing souls charges your Rifle’s Ultimate Bar. When full, you get a 10-second buff: changed weapon VFX, a massive fire rate increase, and boosted damage.

The Blue Dimension (Platforming)

At certain points, a cutscene triggers, and you communicate with a character from another world. You are then pulled into the Blue Dimension—a high-contrast, blue-themed world built out of electronic cubes.

Here, the gameplay completely shifts. You play as a different character focused on platforming.

  • Use abilities like the Rocket Jump to navigate the vertical terrain.

  • Friendly robots in this dimension will automatically shoot at enemies to cover you.

  • The Reward: When you finish the platforming section and return to the main world, Diamonds will spawn on your map, allowing you to bypass previously locked gates and progress.

The Card Reward System

Look out for specific tech-effect meshes scattered in the levels. Getting close to them provides game lore and opens the Card Reward System. You get to choose a random upgrade to change your build. Examples include:

  • One-shot headshot capability for your Drone.

  • An instant AoE deactivation wave when enemies get too close to your Drone.
