What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Simon's Game is built around co-op chaos, and nothing tests that like real groups of players. Early Access lets us balance monsters, objectives and the economy around how people actually play, and shape the deeper layers with the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to keep the game in early access for about a year, so I can add enough content and fix bugs that may negatively impact gameplay.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain more monsters, dungeon types, maps, items, characters and NPCs, and further polish and optimisation.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable online co-op for up to 10 players, with randomized dungeons, the portal maps, the monsters, items, traps, shop, journal, voice chat and revive systems listed above.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price as we go forward with the full release, but not during early access, or any time after the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam discussions, Discord, and regular updates. Player feedback directly shapes balance, new monsters and what Simon asks of you next.”

About This Game

Simon has a game for you. He just needs a little help.

Group up to 10 players and descend into a procedurally generated dungeon that's different every run. Portals in its depths open seamlessly onto other worlds, no loading screens: a moonlit graveyard riddled with caves, and stranger places beyond. Each one has its own objectives, its own monsters, and its own reason Simon wants it done.

Do what Simon says. He's your friend, after all.

A dungeon that lives without you

  • Monsters don't just hunt players. They roam, fight and kill each other, set off traps, and can be hit, knocked down and killed just like you.

  • They hunt by vision, sound or may even know your location at all times.

  • The Frog can grab other monsters with its tongue, the Bull may charge and kill anything it sees, the Blind Nun may lunge at anything noisy enough, and many more.

Physics-based chaos

  • Everyone ragdolls: players and monsters fall, tumble and go flying when hit.

  • Throw bricks and bowling balls, plant landmines, and send monsters (or your friends) through the air.

  • Swinging blades, bear traps, fire, and floors you really shouldn't run on.

Diverse maps

  • Five layers of dungeon, each with its own unique, non-repeating worlds and objectives.

  • A sixth and final layer, where Simon is waiting.

  • Map specific characters that can help you with your objectives and to uncover what is happening.

Talk, but quietly

  • Proximity voice chat: your friends only hear you when they're close. So does everything else.

  • Walkie-talkies to stay in touch across the dungeon, at the cost of giving yourself away.

  • Voice recognition: There are things that may only react if you say specific words... A magic lamp for example, what will you wish for?

  • Monsters may even mimic your voices

Features

  • Online co-op for 1–10 players

  • Procedural dungeon connected to hand-built worlds through seamless portals

  • Living ecosystem: monsters interact with the world and each other, not just you

  • Full physics ragdolls for players and monsters

  • Use items to fight back against the monsters, throw bricks, shoot them with the shotgun

  • Proximity voice chat, radios and voice recognition

  • Many ways to revive fallen friends

  • 5 layers plus a final encounter with Simon

  • Multiple playable characters

  • Customisable retro PSX visuals
