About This Game

Catoptrum is a guessing game played against a shuffled deck of cards.

Sit down, read the hidden card, and see if you have the spirit to divine the cards.

Guess the card

Ask whether it is red or black, high or low, odd or even, an ace, a number, a face. Rule out a suit, glimpse the cards still to come, take back a miss. Maybe there's even a way to cheat ... so perhaps ask yourself, how will you read the future? 

Build your Reading

Between Readings, spend your gold in the Shop. There are many items and their upgrades as well as synergies between them. Each new star earns Insight for Divination upgrades that never reset, and the Guide at your side favors one house and resists another. Hone your skills in the Divination Star Chart and become more consistent, strategic, or lucky. 

Face the Trials

Omens break into a Reading with gifts, bargains, and the odd bad sign. Weigh your options and choose what to take. Every house's chapter ends in a Trial as a test of what you've learned so far. The Final 52 can always be challenged from the start but you won't be at full strength. Lift the handicaps of the Final 52 as you surpass each Chapter's Trial.
