Why Early Access?

“Wallpaper Animator uses AI video generation to turn static images into live wallpapers — a space where the underlying AI models are improving rapidly. Early Access lets us ship the core experience now while we iterate on generation quality as new models become available, expand animation styles, and build out community features based on real user feedback. We're committed to active development through full release.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“Approximately 3–6 months. The core functionality is in place, but we want to add additional animation models, expand editing tools, grow the community wallpaper library, and refine the credit system based on user feedback before calling it complete. The timeline may shift depending on the pace of AI model improvements and community priorities.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the full version on the Early Access release in several key areas. Generation: additional AI animation models offering different visual styles and motion types beyond the current default. Editing: wallpaper customization tools including loop tuning, animation speed control, and the ability to mask regions of an image to keep parts static. Community: a mature community library with hundreds of shared wallpapers, searchable by tags, categories, and ratings. Polish: reliable multi-monitor support, lower resource usage, and overall stability improvements across a wide range of Windows hardware. Early Access currently delivers the core workflow — generate, preview, and apply animated wallpapers — but these additions will round it out into a complete product.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core experience is fully functional: load any image from your PC, animate it into a live wallpaper using AI with one click, and apply it directly to your desktop. You can also browse and download wallpapers shared by other users in the community library. A credit-based system is in place for AI generation. Current limitations include: the community wallpaper library is still growing, multi-monitor setups may not work reliably on all configurations, and performance may vary on lower-end hardware. We're actively addressing these issues during Early Access.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to increase the price when leaving Early Access. Early Access supporters get the full app at the same price as the final release, including all features and content added during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Discord server will be the primary hub for feedback, feature requests, and bug reports. Community-shared wallpapers are a core part of the product, so users directly shape the content library through their contributions. Feature development will be prioritized based on what the community asks for most. We'll also post development updates through Steam Announcements to keep users informed on what's coming next.”
