About This Game

Nightwatch at the Museum is a first-person psychological horror game set in Indonesia, 2003.

You play as Raja, a newly-hired security guard at the Djoyokoesoemo Museum, a heritage museum holding the artifacts, masks, and legacy of an old Javanese noble family.

The job was supposed to be simple.

The Djoyokoesoemo Museum holds what's left of a noble family's legacy: batik collections, topeng masks, wayang figures, and artifacts with names Raja can barely read under a dim flashlight beam. Old paper, fluorescent flicker, the kind of silence that only exists in buildings that have outlived the people who built them.

The patrol is mandatory. So is the report. So is showing up tomorrow night, and the night after that. Jobs are hard to come by in 2003, and you need this one. That's the job. That's all it is.

And something in this museum needs you to "stay".

Slow burn horror rooted in Javanese culture. No jump scare spam. A story told through logbooks, old newspapers, the specific loneliness of an empty building, and the slow creeping feeling that something is wrong before you can even name it.

There are scorch marks in this museum that nobody has ever explained. The deeper Raja goes into his shifts, the less that story holds together.

He isn't the first security guard to ask questions. The others don't work here anymore.
