Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bad Goons is still in active development, and Early Access gives us the opportunity to build and improve the game together with the community.

Because the game is heavily focused on large-scale multiplayer battles, destructible voxel terrain, building, fortification, and dynamic frontline gameplay, player feedback is especially important. We regularly run shared developer and player playtests to see how the systems work in real matches, what feels fun, what needs balancing, and which parts of the battlefield experience should be improved next.

Early Access allows us to test the game with more players, improve stability and performance, refine combat and building systems, and shape the future of the game based on real community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Bad Goons to remain in Early Access for roughly 12 to 18 months.

This estimate may change depending on player feedback, technical progress, and the overall scope of the game. During Early Access, our plan is to continue improving the core gameplay, expanding content, balancing systems, improving stability, and testing the game together with the community.

We want to take the time needed to make Bad Goons stronger, more stable, and more complete before moving toward a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to expand and improve Bad Goons in several areas. Our goals include adding more weapons and equipment, larger and more varied maps, improved destruction systems, better environmental effects, additional objectives and game modes, more advanced fortification mechanics, and more polish to animations, sound, performance, and overall immersion.

We also plan to continue testing ideas such as vehicles and deeper battlefield systems, depending on what works best for the game and the community.

The full version is planned to feel broader, more polished, more stable, and more complete than the Early Access version, while keeping the same core focus: large-scale voxel warfare where players destroy, build, fortify, and reshape the battlefield together.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version already includes the core systems that define Bad Goons. Players can take part in multiplayer FPS battles with fully networked voxel destruction, dynamic capture point gameplay, building and fortification systems, deployable spawn networks, procedural maps, and multiple weapons and tools.

The game is playable, but still under active development. Some systems may change, improve, or be reworked based on testing, performance needs, balance, and community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will most likely not change during or after Early Access, but no final decision has been made yet.

Our current plan is to keep the price the same throughout Early Access and after the full release. However, this may change depending on the amount of content added, the overall scope of the game, ongoing development costs, server and infrastructure costs, community support needs, and the overall state of the game as it moves closer to full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to work closely with players through feedback, discussions, bug reports, balance suggestions, and regular playtesting. Because Bad Goons is built around large-scale multiplayer battles, destructible terrain, building, fortification, and constantly shifting frontline gameplay, real player experiences are extremely important for shaping the game.

A major part of this process will be dedicated Play with the Devs events. During these events, players will be able to join matches together with the development team, test new features, try balance changes, and give direct feedback based on real gameplay situations. These sessions will help us better understand what works, what feels frustrating, what needs improvement, and what kinds of tactics or systems naturally emerge from the community.

We also plan to use community feedback to help guide priorities during development, including performance improvements, map design, weapon balance, building systems, destruction mechanics, objectives, and overall game feel.

Our goal is to make Early Access a shared development period where the community is not just playing the game, but actively helping shape the future of the battlefield.”

About This Game

The battlefield you enter won't be the battlefield you leave.

Bad Goons is a World War II voxel multiplayer FPS where fighting, digging, building, and destruction reshape the battle. Explore large, freely traversable maps, open new routes through enemy defenses, and turn the terrain into an advantage for your team.

TAKE AWAY THEIR COVER

An enemy is hiding in a church tower. You could shoot at the window. Or you could destroy its supports and bring the tower down.

Structures fall when you cut them off from the ground. Dig trenches and tunnels, break through walls, and remove the positions your enemies rely on. Each breach changes where players can move, hide, and fight. Build a new defense, and the next attack has a different problem to solve.

Choose from a wide World War II arsenal, including explosives with different purposes: some focus on damaging enemies, while others excel at tearing away their cover.

PICK YOUR FIREPOWER

Choose from a wide arsenal of World War II weapons. Pick off enemies with bolt-action rifles, storm trenches with submachine guns, or cover your team's advance with machine guns. Bring explosives to clear enemy positions, breach walls, and tear down the cover standing between you and the objective.

CHOOSE YOUR NEXT GOON

Every death brings a choice of four soldiers: two free picks and two available for in-match tokens. Each comes with perks, giving you a new opportunity to adapt your next life to the fight.

With 15 perks in the game, you can try different approaches, buy an extra perk, and spend in-match money to modify your soldier. Decide what your next deployment needs before heading back into battle.

BUILD A POSITION WORTH DEFENDING

Use wood to establish cover, dig in around an objective, or create a route for your next push. Each soldier also receives one or two additional building material types for free, drawn from materials that otherwise cost in-match money.

Want tougher defenses? Invest in stronger blocks and build cover that can take more punishment. The money you earn can improve your soldier or strengthen a position the whole team can use.

KEEP YOUR TEAM IN THE FIGHT AND GET PAID

Spend in-match money to place deployment spawn points, supply and ammo stations, and healing stations. Give teammates a way back to the front, somewhere to refill, and a chance to recover before their next fight.

When teammates spawn at your points, heal at your stations, or replenish ammo from your supplies, you earn money. Useful support helps fund your next investment, whether that's better defenses, another deployment point, or an upgrade for your goon.

On night maps, you can also spend money to fire flares and light up the battlefield.

SECURE THE DROP.

Airdrops offer substantial in-match cash rewards and airstrike tokens for your team's shared reserve. Secure them to give your team more resources and access to air support.

CALL IN THE STRIKE.

Use a strike to break an enemy position or respond when the battle turns. Pushing forward while enemies rush your own objective? Call a strike on their position to help your team fight back.

Airstrike tokens are shared. Decide when spending them will make the biggest difference.

MAKE EVERY RESPAWN COUNT

Your team also shares a pool of spawn tokens. Repeated deaths drain that reserve, and running out costs your team the match.

Good cover, timely healing, and well-placed deployment points help preserve your team's ability to keep fighting. Every life draws from the same pool.

LEARN THE BATTLEFIELD AS IT CHANGES

Every map is procedurally generated, with four time-of-day settings and three weather settings adding variety to the battlefields. Find your route, establish your positions, and adapt as players dig, build, and destroy around you.

A familiar tactic may need a new approach on the next map. Even within a match, the cover you used earlier might already be gone.

Choose your goon. Shape the battlefield. Keep your team fighting.
