What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core gameplay of Spirit Dungeon is built to a finished state, polished until we are satisfied with it as developers. On top of that, the combinations that arise from the party you assemble through spirit contracts, the synergies of each race, and the way you guide battles with cards are vast, and we believe that seeing how many different players approach the game, and hearing their voices, will make it even better. Through Early Access, we plan to take in feedback while adding content and refining the experience toward the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will decide flexibly based on player feedback and development progress, but we expect roughly six months to one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to add an endless dungeon that opens up beyond the main forest: a mode where enemies grow stronger with every zone you cross, and you see how deep you can go while making and losing contracts along the way.

We also plan to keep improving the experience based on the feedback we receive during Early Access. Development priorities may change in response to the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All of the game's major systems are implemented and the game can be played from beginning to end: building your party through spirit contracts, a room-to-room dungeon, auto battles guided by cards, boss fights in every zone, Blessings (relics), and the Spirit Altar for progress that carries between runs. Since the start of Early Access, we have released a major update that rebuilt how the dungeon works based on your feedback. The game already offers a complete experience, and we will keep refining it with your input throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price after Early Access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please share your thoughts and feedback through the Steam Community discussions and reviews. We intend to reflect what we hear in future updates and in development toward the full release. If you run into any issues, let us know and we will address them promptly.”

About This Game

You are entering a deep forest that no one has ever left.

Spirit Dungeon is a party-building roguelike RPG: contract spirits, build your party, and guide their battles with cards.

Pacts with spirits

Beasts, Bugs, Plants, and Dragons. The spirits of the forest appear when you, the summoner, call. A spirit you make a pact with fights at your side, returns to the forest when its contract ends, and never comes back if it falls. Whom you bind, and whom you let go, shapes the party you carry into the dark.

A party that keeps changing

Every victory brings new spirits and cards before you. Your companions keep rotating, and no two runs are fought with the same faces. Beasts come alive through swaps, Bugs through the cards you play, Plants through Blossomfall, and Dragons answer to all of it. When your spirits' powers click together, the battlefield is yours.

Spirits fight, you guide them

On the battlefield, your spirits act on their own will. With the cards in your hand, you support them and steer the fight. Attack, hold, or swap: each card you play draws out what your spirits can do.

Into the deep forest

The path forks at every step, and the way you did not take is gone for good. Healing Shrines, the Merchant Room, fierce foes bearing Blessings (relics), and a boss waiting in every zone. The deeper you go, the more the forest changes its face, and the harder it tests you.

Fall, and return to the forest

Spirit Dew gathered on your runs awakens new spirits and cards at the Spirit Altar in your base. The Catalog remembers every spirit you have met, and the next run begins a little differently.

Features

  • Auto battle × cards — Spirits fight; you guide them with cards
