A folk tale inspired by true events

Dreams on a Pillow is a pseudo-stealth, puzzle adventure game inspired by a Palestinian folk tale set during the 1948 Nakba. Throughout the game you will experience the often untold stories of Palestinian history via Khadra’s dreams, nightmares and the harsh reality of finding refuge when uprooted from a home that no longer exists. 

Discover how Khadra's story unfolds 

You play as Khadra, a young woman born in Al Tantura surrounded by her family’s olive grove. When her town is invaded and a massacre erupts, she is forced to flee her home and leave everything behind, except a pillow. Lead her journey across a land torn apart and experience her story as it shifts between her present escape and  a fading  memory of her hometown's vivid past that  is shadowed by the reality of the Nakba, in what was once a place full of life and light.

For Khadra, the Pillow is her mysterious source of inner safety.  A fragile anchor in a reality that wants to break her.  She carries it through a hostile journey, but it comes with a price; it slows her down, restricts her movement and forces her to make impossible choices. 

• A Journey - Survive the darkness within and without 

While holding the Pillow,  Khadra must confront the reality of the catastrophe and when she sets the Pillow  aside, she can break through the barriers and its challenges. This borrowed freedom however awakens something far worse! Horrifying nightmares, twisted reflections and hallucinations of the terror that awaits  within.

Step into Khadra’s world, where flashbacks, hallucinations, and the reality of the Nakba unfold beautiful stories of Palestinian life. Between the horrors, explore life before the Nakba. Make hummus, fetch water from the well, and immerse yourself in the rhythms of vibrant Palestinian towns. Experience the beauty, the traditions, and the small joys that shaped a world almost lost to history.
