CodeX Protocol Playtest is a free public beta preview of our single-player cyberpunk shooter and interactive Python learning experience.

The public beta includes only:

• The training area

• The first two levels of the game

• The first two chapters of the Python training course

Get a taste of the action, explore the opening missions, and start learning real Python through narrated, animated lessons, hands-on challenges, and the visualizer. No coding experience is needed, and learning is untimed.

This is a limited preview. The complete beginner Python course and later game levels described on this page are not included in the beta.

Beta progress is separate and will not carry over to the full game.

This is a work-in-progress build: you may encounter bugs, unfinished elements, and changes as development continues. Your feedback on combat, mission clarity, lesson difficulty, and the visualizer will help us improve both sides of the experience.

CodeX Protocol combines third-person action, exploration, and coding missions with a complete beginner Python course included in the game. Step into a cyberpunk adventure where your aim gets you through the fight and your ingenuity gets you past the next obstacle.

Become the agent who cracks the system

Enter a low-poly world shaped by corporate control. Explore hostile territory, battle enemies, and reach the terminals standing between you and your objective. Take the fight to the guards, then turn your attention to the systems they protect.

Third-person firefights and coding encounters give your missions a changing rhythm. Enjoy the action, investigate the next obstacle, and work out how to get through. Each breakthrough gives you a reason to push further—and another chance to put both your reflexes and your reasoning to work.

Send the transmission that opens a sea gate. Put a crane's commands in order to lower a boat into the water. These mission challenges ask you to read the situation, work out the logic, and make real Python do the job.

Hack terminals, solve the problem in front of you, and open the way forward. There is a particular satisfaction in getting a stubborn system to respond because you understood what it needed. Your solution earns the next step through the mission. You wrote the code. You cracked it.

Start with zero coding experience. Follow narrated, animated walkthroughs that bring each idea to life, then take the controls yourself. Predict what happens next, change a program, write your own solution, and repair code that has gone wrong.

The lessons keep you involved. You'll make decisions, test ideas, and use feedback to figure out your next move. Explanations and progressive hints help when you get stuck, while untimed learning gives you room to experiment. Build from your first Python commands to variables, conditions, loops, and functions, then take those skills into the missions.

See the “why” behind every line

Watch a variable change. Follow a loop through another pass. See how a function produces its result. The visualizer turns the hidden workings of your Python program into something you can follow, step by step.

When something goes wrong, move backwards through the execution and investigate. Change your code, run it again, and see the difference. That moment when the program finally makes sense—and you know how to fix it—is part of the experience. Finish the mission with a solution you made and an understanding you can use again.
