BRING A FRIEND. BUILD A RIVALRY.

Maul Tactics is competitive maze-building tower defence, built around playing against friends. Challenge a friend to online 1v1, or bring a group for a 2–4 player free-for-all. Build your own defence while sending creeps at your rivals. Make their lives run out before yours do.

Competitive PvP. Separate mazes. One winner. Arrange a match with a friend or group and play against each other. Solo modes are included for learning, experimenting and playing alone.

YOU BUILD THE MAZE

Your towers shape the route enemies have to follow. Turn open ground into a winding path, put your strongest towers where creeps will pass them again, and keep a route to the exit open. Towers attack automatically; your decisions are what to build, what to upgrade, and when to send.

SEND. EARN. REPEAT.

Sending creeps puts pressure on another maze and grows your recurring income. A Wretch costs 10 gold and adds +2 income: that's 2 more gold every 15 seconds for the rest of the match, even after that Wretch dies. Keep gold for sends as well as towers, then reinvest each payout in your next attack or defence.

TURN A BASIC TOWER INTO A LATE-GAME THREAT

Upgrade from tier I to II, then choose one of three tier III specialisations. Each race's signature tower can go further: after Escalation, spend gold and lumber to ascend it into a larger 2×2 tier IV tower. Leave room in your maze for it.

15 RACES. DIFFERENT WAYS TO WIN.

All fifteen races are available from the start in the full game. Try overlapping Frostborn slows, Arclight chain lightning, Plague splash damage, or Ember artillery. Change your maze, your upgrade branches and your spending plan for the next rivalry.

SOLO MODES INCLUDED

Learn and experiment in the 15-chapter Story Campaign, face ten named Gauntlet rivals, or play a Skirmish against the AI. Wave Survivor uses automatic waves and bosses rather than enemy sends, and can be played against the AI or a friend online. Campaign progress does not grant extra combat power in multiplayer.

Online play requires an internet connection and Steam sign-in. Try the free demo before buying: it includes eight playable races, the first five Story Campaign chapters and the first five Gauntlet rivals.

BEFORE YOU PLAY

Are we playing against each other or cooperating?
Against each other. Online matches are competitive PvP: each player builds a separate maze and sends creeps at rivals. The last surviving player wins. Bring a friend for 1v1, or a group for 2–4 player free-for-all.

Can I play solo?
Yes. Story Campaign, Gauntlet, Skirmish and solo Wave Survivor are included. You can learn and experiment alone, then take a tower kit into a match against friends.

Which demo should my friend download?
Use the free Steam demo for online play. It has eight playable races, the first five Story Campaign chapters and the first five Gauntlet rivals. The itch.io browser demo is single-player, with Gauntlet, Skirmish and Wave Survivor.

Do I need to finish Story to unlock the races?
All fifteen races are available immediately in the full game. Campaign progress grants no extra combat power in multiplayer. Online play requires an internet connection and Steam sign-in.
