What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rhythm Racer is built around making each song feel right to play, and that is difficult to fully test with only myself and a small group of friends.

The game is already fully playable, with over 110 built-in tracks and all of the main game modes in place. However, players will also be able to use music from their own libraries, which means there is an almost unlimited variety of songs, genres and structures that the game needs to handle.

Early Access will allow me to get feedback from a much wider range of players and music. This will help me find songs or situations that do not behave as expected, improve the pacing and difficulty, and make the overall experience feel as good as possible before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Rhythm Racer to remain in Early Access for around 3–6 months.

This may change slightly depending on the amount of feedback received and whether any unexpected issues are found, but I am not planning for it to remain in Early Access for a long period.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main focus during Early Access will be balancing and refining how different songs feel to play.

I also plan to add additional language support, more built-in tracks and ships, improvements to Stream Mode and its chat features, and continued improvements based on player feedback.

The core game and its main modes are already complete, so Early Access is mainly about refinement, feedback and adding to what is already there rather than building the game from scratch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and includes over 110 original built-in tracks. Players can also load compatible music from their own library.

It currently includes single-player, local split-screen for 2–4 players, Cruise Mode and Stream Mode.

Per-song leaderboards, ghost racing, achievements, Steam Cloud saves, and ship and tunnel customisation are also included and working.

The main area still being worked on is how the generated tracks feel across a very wide range of music, along with general balancing, polish and any issues found by players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase slightly when the game leaves Early Access, depending on the features and content added during development.

Any increase would be announced in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will be especially useful for Rhythm Racer because people will be playing it with a much wider range of music than I could ever test by myself.

I will be looking for feedback on how different songs feel, whether the speed and difficulty seem fair, and whether any genres or unusual songs produce unexpected results.

Feedback on Stream Mode, ghost racing, leaderboards, language support and requested features will also help me decide what to prioritise before the full release.

I will post development updates through the Steam Community and use the discussions to collect bug reports, feedback and suggestions.”

About This Game

Your music. Your track. Your race.

Ever wanted to ride inside a song? Rhythm Racer turns any track into a 360° racing tunnel and drops you inside it. Every beat, bass drop and build-up shapes the world around you. You're not listening to the music — you're flying through it.

Bring your own library or pick from 100+ built-in original tracks. Race a song for the high score, learn its layout run after run, or just choose a look and ride the flow. It's whatever you need it to be that night.

Drop the needle. Hit the tube.

Pick a song. The game analyzes it and builds a unique 360° tube from the audio — bass, drums and melody all shape the track. Twelve lanes wrap around you. Move through them to gather gems and slip past obstacles, all in time with the music.

The same song always builds the same track, so nothing is random. Learn the flow, find your line, and make it yours.

Just ride — Cruise Mode

Not every run has to be a score attack. Cruise Mode is built for longer tracks and longer sessions: one continuous drive through ever-changing tubes while your playlist rolls on. Same music-reactive world, far less pressure — more time to sink into the visuals and your own custom look. The wind-down mode for when you don't want a fight, you want a drive.

Make it yours

Rhythm Racer is built to look like you. Choose from 20+ ships with millions of color combinations, then style the world itself — tube and rail colors, patterns and themes, including country-inspired color presets. Your music, your machine, your tunnel.

Chase the ghost — when you want to

When you're feeling competitive, the challenge is built in. Race your own best run or someone else's: their ghost ship flies alongside you, showing every lane change and every gem. Learn their path, beat their score, and climb the per-song leaderboards. You're always one run away from a new best.

Pull up a second seat

Grab a friend (or three) for 2–4 player split-screen on the same couch — same music, same tube, head to head.

Bring your whole chat

Streaming? Stream Mode turns your Twitch chat into live racers. Viewers type !play to join the queue — no install on their side — and AI drives their ships, so anyone can jump in. Perfect for community nights and chat-vs-streamer races.

Why Rhythm Racer?

It's a game where your own music becomes a place — a tunnel you ride, learn, and make your own. Race it hard or cruise it slow.

Your music. Your race. Your turn.

Drop the needle. Hit the tube.
