A falling-block puzzle game with real quantum mechanics. Put pieces in superposition, entangle them across your tower, then observe and watch them collapse. Play solo, against a bot, with a friend on the couch, or online.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Quantris already plays well, and a lot of it came from players in our Discord. Quantum mechanics leaves more room than we can design for on our own: new gates, new ways to tie two boards together, new modes. Early Access lets Steam players help decide where it goes while the game is still changing quickly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't have a fixed date, but we're shooting for February 2027. We'll leave Early Access once the planned modes and quantum mechanics are in and online play has held up with a full Steam audience. We'll post progress on the community hub along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More quantum mechanics: more gates, and more ways to entangle and measure pieces. More modes, and more hand-made puzzles in the Puzzle Vault. Balance and polish based on how people actually play, especially online head-to-head and co-op.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable from start to finish. It has six single-player modes (Marathon, Sprint, Ultra, Flux, Puzzle Vault and VS AI), co-op and head-to-head for two players on one machine, the same two modes online by room code or the public room list, global leaderboards and a replay of every run. Expect balance changes, and progress or scores may be reset during development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It is likely, but we haven't decided on the final monetization yet. It may be in the form of a flat price increase, a subscription model, in app purchases. We're still exploring what the game can be.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players already shape the game through our Discord, and the game is what it is today because of them. On Steam we'll read the forums and reviews alongside Discord, try new mechanics with players before they become permanent, and post what changed with each update.”

About This Game

Falling blocks that obey quantum mechanics

A Hadamard block puts the piece it touches into superposition: it might be there and it might not. Pieces that share a gate become entangled, so their fates are tied. Nothing is settled until you drop an observation block. Then every entangled piece collapses at once, and you find out which blocks were real.

A line clears only when every block in it has been measured and they all came out the same way: all there, or all gone. Plan for the collapse, or get buried by it.

The quantum state is simulated with the same math a quantum computer runs, so outcomes follow real quantum probabilities, not a coin flip dressed up. You don't need any physics to play. Each mode teaches its rules as you go.

Modes

  • Marathon: the classic climb, with quantum blocks in the queue.

  • Sprint: hit a run of point targets as fast as you can.

  • Ultra: three minutes, as many points as you can get.

  • Flux: earn energy as you score and spend it on quantum blocks, while you keep the board stable.

  • Puzzle Vault: hand-made puzzles that need quantum thinking.

  • VS AI: race a bot at three difficulties.

Two players, one couch

Play co-op or head-to-head on one machine, with two controllers or a shared keyboard. In co-op, two towers share one team score and entanglement reaches across both boards. In head-to-head, entangle your pieces with your rival's, and your measurement can knock blocks out of their tower.

Online

The same co-op and head-to-head modes, against a friend by room code or anyone from the public room list.

Also

  • Full controller support, with remappable buttons and keys.

  • Tunable handling: DAS, ARR, DCD, soft drop speed and lock delay.

  • 99 in-game achievements, 40 of them secret.

  • Replays of every run, and leaderboards for each mode.

  • Discord Rich Presence.
