About This Game

You work the night shift at a sealed sorting facility. Unidentified objects arrive at your station, and each one must be inspected before you decide what happens to it: ACCEPT, REJECT, or CONTAIN.

You have a scale, a scanner, and a corporate terminal. Most of the time, that's enough: examine the object, take your readings, check the protocol, and make the call.

Until the readings stop agreeing.

One instrument says the object is safe. Another returns a result that should be impossible. A new condition appears in the protocol that wasn't there the night before. Sometimes the equipment really is malfunctioning. Sometimes the object is the problem. And sometimes you trusted the instructions a little too quickly.

CONTAINMENT MANIFEST is an atmospheric science-fiction game about investigating anomalous objects and working with incomplete or unreliable information.

Running every available test and collecting a screen full of numbers won't always give you the answer. You'll need to pay attention, compare results, and learn which readings are worth trusting. Some tests reveal something useful. Others only make the situation worse.

As the shifts pass, the familiar routine begins to change. New operating conditions appear, equipment starts behaving differently, and some decisions have a way of coming back later.

The story unfolds entirely at your workstation — through terminal messages, changes in protocol, the objects themselves, and the way the system responds to what you do.

Your job remains the same: inspect the object and classify it correctly.

At least, that's how the instructions describe it.
